Kuruvi special screening in San Jose, US was a hit just like Vijay’s movies. The distributor of Kuruvi, Jayavel Murugan had arranged for a special show of Kuruvi on Friday. Vijay who is on a holiday in the US immediately agreed to participate in it. The highlight of the show was the interaction session of Vijay with his fans, prior to the screening.

The actor, who never leaves an opportunity to meet his fans arrived in style in an 18-seater stretch limousine and spent time with his fans. He spoke with them, signed autographs and posed for pictures. He even asked to delay the screening so that he could meet all the fans gathered there.

The show was a huge hit and Vijay enjoyed it thoroughly. He thanked his fans for patiently waiting to meet him and promised that he would do another show.

Vijay rocks California!

Vijay arrived in an 18-seater stretch limousine. The actor enjoyed himself thoroughly and insisted on meeting each and every fan, even though the screening was supposed to start at 8.30 p.m.
Vijay asked the organisers to delay the screening until he had met everyone queuing to meet him.
Jayavel Murugan (seen with Vijay in the picture), the distributor of Kuruvi in the US, said the event was a huge success. After clicking pictures with his fans, Vijay spoke to them in the auditorium where the screening took place.
The hungama surrounding the screening did manage to pull Americans out of Indiana Jones and Iron Man shows to watch an Indian hero and his fan base.
In his speech, Vijay told his fans that he loved them and thanked them for patiently waiting to greet him. He also promised that he would do another show in the US soon.

Americans who had come to watch 'Indiana jones' and 'Iron Man' in the other theaters in the big complex stood watching at the ongoing commotion caused by the die hard supporters show of affection

The distributor of 'Kuruvi' in USA Jayavel Murugan said that just within a day's advertisement, a crowd of this scale turning up to the theatre was totally unexpected as normally it takes months of advertisement to attract people in USA.

The distributor also praised Ilaya Thalapathi on the dedication shown by the him towards his work, his time management skills and the intimacy shown towards his fans.

At last Vijay was escorted inside the big theatre and his fans were requested to come in an orderly fashion to have his autograph and pose for photographs.

In the middle of the meeting session with Vijay, the organizers reminded the star of the screening time of 'Kuruvi'.

But the people's star wanted to meet in person every one of his loyal fans and asked the persons in chare to delay the screening until he completes it.

After satisfying each of this admirer's wish of spending a few seconds with their megastar, Vijay spoke to his gathered fans in the auditorium where the movie was to be screened.

He thanked all his fans for the patience shown by them in waiting for him and also expressed his affection towards all of the people who love him. He also gave a promise to do a show for the thousands of his fans all over from USA very soon.

Vijay to interact with US fans

Vijay, always keen to show his commitment to his fans, immediately decided to take a break from his holiday and attend the show to meet his fans.

Vijay is currently spending his summer holidays in the US with his family. Meanwhile, Jayavel Murugan, US distributor of Vijay's recent release Kuruvi, has arranged a special show of the movie in San Jose. Vijay, always keen to show his commitment to his fans, immediately decided to take a break from his holiday and attend the show to meet his fans.

Jayavel Murugan has also decided to hold and interactive section with Vijay, much to the delight of his fans. The event will be on Friday, May 23 and the venue is Century Berryessa 10, 1171 North Capitol Avenue, San Jose, CA 95312. The event is from 7.45 to 8 p.m. and will be followed by a screening of Kuruvi.

Ilayathalapthy Vijay has a large fan base and the Kuruvi's release has generated a lot of enthusiasm. For most of his fans, meeting Vijay in person is like a dream coming true. This interaction with Vijay is his first in the US.

`Thalai` shows Billa to `Ilayathalapathy`

The fans of Ajit and Vijay are fighting a no-hold war of words on the internet over Billa and ATM, but the two stars met up on Friday evening to watch the Ajit film at Chennai's premiere preview theatre Four Frames.

Ajit and his beautiful wife Shalini were holding a private show of Billa on its release day for their close friends. The guest list included arch rival (made out by the media?), Vijay and his lovely wife Sangeetha, Surya and his brother Karthi, and few friends from other walks of life.

Ajit the perfect host that he is, made everybody comfortable, and saw to it that all his friends had a good time watching Billa, and Vijay the gentleman that he is, after the show went and hugged him.

In Kollywood there is a lot of professional rivalry but they do not carry it to their personal life. Ajit and Vijay may be bitter foes at work place but in real life they are good buddies like Rajni and Kamal.

Vijay's four films with Cheran

This was mouthed by Vijay himself at the audio launch of Karu.Pazhaniappan' s latest film Pirivom Santhippom. While speaking at the event he said that he had done 4 films with director Cheran, who was also present at the function. This kept everyone guessing, but Vijay was quick to clarify.

He mentioned that it was Cheran's assistant Jaganathan who directed him for Puthiya Geethai and Cheran supervised the shooting of the film for four days. Those five days, Vijay claimed, he felt like acting in four films of Cheran as he felt the director paid a lot of attention to detail. He even expressed his desire to act in Cheran's direction.

The event wore a different look when a leading director opined that his assistant director's presence intimidated him. Now how often have you heard that? We guess never. Parthipan made this revelation about his assistant Karu. Pazhaniappan to an audience that had all the bigwigs of Kollywood at the Santham Theater during the same event.

Parthipan, the eloquent speaker that he is, was at his jovial best. This isn't something we haven't seen in the past but what made this special was that he didn't spare anyone on stage.

Vijay under Cheran's direction – undisclosed news

Veering away from commercial films, Vijay has been inspired to do meaningful roles.

While most top heroes in Tamil hesitate to do realistic roles, nowadays many directors themselves turn heroes. Ilaya Dalapathi has announced that he is ready to give it a go.

When talking at a function in Chennai, Vijay said, "Cheran is a wonderful director. In 'Pudhiya Geethai' I acted for 4 days under his directorial supervision. He has the knack of getting the best out of an actor. I want to do a full length film under his direction, but he seems to have turned into an actor himself."

In response, Cheran said he's ready to fulfill Vijay's wish.

"Vijay is to have acted in 'Pokkisham.' It was I who did not make use of the call sheet he gave. If I get another opportunity, I would love to direct Vijay in a different kind of role," said Cheran and Vijay nodded his head in assent.

Following this, Vijay has decided to check out stories with Cheran. So get ready to see Vijay in a film directed by Cheran, in the near future.

Pirivom Santhippom: Star studded function

The star studded function marked the launch of the music track of 'Pirivom Santhipom' held in Santham Cinemas in Chennai on December 9. Vijay and Prabhu Deva released the audio. Rama Narayanan, Kaliapili G. Sekaran, Abhirami Ramanathan, Parthiban, Madhavan, Vidyasagar, and Dharani, were among the dignitaries who graced the occasion. Vijay, who is known for brief speech in public forum, delivered a relatively longer one. He was all in praise for Cheran, for his distinguished efforts to make good films. He also expressed his willingness to act in Cheran’s film. Cheran revealed that he could not make a film featuring Vijay despite the fact that the star had given him call sheet for a movie titled 'Pokkisham'. “The delay in making the Autograph was the reason for not being able to make use of his call sheet”, said Cheran. He too expressed his eager to direct Vijay. “I want the Tamil people to see you in a different profile”. Parthiban’s speech was full of praise on the film and the heroine Sneha. We could see Sneha blushing while Parthiban went on heaping laurels on her beauty and her amazing smile. He also had some words to praise for Cheran for his dedication, down to earth attitude, and hard work. The song screened in the function portrayed a grand marriage of family belonging to Karaikkudi Chettiyar community. Abhirami Ramanathan revealed that he too was belonged to the community and requested everyone belonging to the community to view the film. The Vidyasagar musical has the stamp of his melody. The film will hit the halls on Pongal.

Vijay and Prabhu Deva say Pirivom Sandhipom

Yes, Vijay and Prabhu Deva are reuniting once again. No! This is not Pokiri II, but to launch the audio of one of the most-awaited family drama in recent times, Pirivom Sandhipom. Director Karu. Pazhaniappan' s third venture shot to fame after he released the first set pictures of the Cheran-Sneha- starrer and people fell in love with the movie instantly.

Karu.Pazhaniappan' s favourite composer Vidyasagar scores the music, and he is said to have given some fascinating tunes. The audio will be launched in Sathyam Theatres on the 9 December 2007. Film giants including K.S. Ravikumar, Ramanarayanan, Parthiban are expected to grace the occassion.

Vijay, Suriya and audio releases

Vijay and Suriya will be involved in two different releases on the same day at the same complex. The releases, however, have nothing to do with their films. Vijay releases 'Pirivom Santhipom' audio in Santham Cinemas, while Suriya releases 'Indiralohathil Naa Azhagappan' audio at Sathyam Cinemas. Both functions take place in the same day (December 9) at almost the same time. Pirivom audio release will be at 9 AM while Indiralogathil release will be at 9.30 AM. Indiralohathil, produced by Seventh Channel 'Manickam' Narayanan, is a comedy entertainer featuring Vadivelu in the lead role. Pyramid Music releases the audio. Suriya will present the first copy of the audio CD to Silambarasan. The first copy of Pirivom audio CD will be received by Prabhu Deva. Music director Sabesh Murali is said to have given a touch of folk music in Indiralohathil music track. The sensational hot singer 'Mirchi' Suchi and Vadivel have crooned for the item number that features sensuous Shriya with Vadivel on screen. With sensational young stars like Vijay, Surya, Silambarasan and Prabhu Deva attending two different functions at the same time, the media persons, especially photo journalists, would find it tough to choose between the two functions.

Actor Vijay inaugurates Downs Syndrome Clinic at the Kanchi Kamakoti Child's Trust Hospital Nungambakkam, at 10.am. today. Vijay is a known philanthropist and keeps this aspect of his character under wraps.

The biggest Kollywood party of recent times

It was one of the biggest parties thrown in Kollywood in recent times. The anniversary celebration of ET-Madras Plus held at Park Sheraton in Chennai on Feb 10 had who's who of the industry coming together.

It has been a while since the three biggies Vijay, Vikram and Surya were seen at a same place; not to forget Simbu and Dhanush sharing few lighter moments. Sister-in-laws Sonia Selvaraghavan and Aishwarya Dhanush were seen with Trisha Krishnan having a great time.

Directors Dharani and Bala were at their relaxed best with A.R.Rahman as usual stopped for a few minutes to rush back. Some of the top media persons were also seen gracing the occasion.

Overall the ambience was top notch and the event was well managed. The celebrities seems to have a taken a special liking towards the sets erected inside the venue on lines with a market place with flower shops, pan center, auto stands and movie cut outs.

Ilayathalapathy Vijay gave a party to his contemporary leading stars to show that they don�t have any rivalry or hatred among them. Actors Ajith, Suriya, Vikram and Arya were among those who took part in this party.

Vijay is currently acting in the movie Azhakiya Tamizh Magan directed by Ghili- fame Bharathan. Abachan is producing this movie. Sivaji heroine Shriya is playing the female lead role.

Sources say, Vijay will be acting in the movie being produced by Tamil Nadu Minister M.K.Stalin�s son Udhayanithi. Buzz is that in this movie Vijay will be acting in dual roles.
