The Villu to make it!

Publicity stills for the Vijay-starrer “Villu” is out. And fans can’t stop raving about their favourite hero. Shot by model-model coordinator-fashion photographer Karthik, the stills smack of style.

“I’m used to glamour photography. But this is the first time I’m doing publicity stills for a film. I was overwhelmed during the one-day shoot at AVM Studios. I was surrounded by big names in the industry. Prabhudeva, the film’s director, has a keen eye for detail.

Actor Vijay is so cool off-screen. But once the arc lights are switched on, he’s fire — focussed and intense. Nalini Sriram was the stylist. I was looking for some expressions, and Vijay came up with a dozen. The shoot went off well. It was a dream come true,” gushes Karthik, who flits between Chennai-Bangalore and Bangkok.

Nayan shoots with Vijay

Nayanthara has completed work on Kuselan and she has joined the shoot of Ilayathalapathy Vijay's Villu in Pollachi, where they shot some scenes for the film.

Later the unit has gone back to Palani which is the main location for the film. Prabhu Deva, the director is a fast worker, and the movie which has camera by Ravi Varman, is canning shots at a hectic pace.

Ravi is happy that there is a lot of vibrancy in the way Prabhu visualizes his shots. Vijay and Nayanthara make a lovely pair and after the 10-day shoot in Palani the unit will be flying off to an exotic location abroad.

Vijay is all praise for Prabhu Deva, for his speed and professionalism. On the other hand, Prabhu says Vijay is simply electrifying and is so involved with the proceedings. Mutual admiration club?

Vijay’s Villu ready for attack

After the lukewarm response received for Kuruvi, Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay is out on his next mission ‘Villu’ to be directed by Prabhu Deva. It has been reported that the team is charged up to make Villu a great hottie just like their previous project Pokkiri.

Nayanthara will be teaming up with Vijay as heroine for the first time though she did an item number earlier in Sivakasi. The unit will be leaving for Pazhani for a week long shooting which will involve Vijay, Nayan and Vadivelu.

After the completion of this part, the crew has plans to move overseas to New Zealand in the first week of July for a twenty day shoot where some important scenes are planned to be canned.

Vijay's Villu in trouble

Shooting of Moscowin Kaveri, an upcoming film being produced by Aascar Ravichandran and directed by cinematographer Ravi Varman is almost complete. This film has newcomers Rahul Ravindran and Yashoda in the lead roles. A complaint has been lodged by its producer Ravichandran against director Ravi Varman at the producer's council.

When the matter was probed, it was revealed that Ravi Varman has been chosen as the cinematographer for Vijay's new film Villu and he has already started working in the same. This seems to have irked Aascar who stated that Ravi Varman, before completing dubbing and other post production work in Moscowin Kaveri, has shifted base to Villu.

When the matter was brought to producer's council, Ravi Varman explained, "Only a day of shooting is pending in Moscowin Kaveri which I plan to complete after the first schedule of Villu which will go on for 2 weeks". Kollywood circles aver that in the event of Producer's council insisting that Ravi Varman should complete Moscowin Kaveri and then only move to Villu, the latter film may run in to some trouble.

'வில்லு' விஜய்-நயனதாரா!

விஜய் நடிக்கும் புதிய படத்தின் பெயர் வில்லு என மாற்றப்பட்டுள்ளது.

இந்தப் படத்திற்கு முதலில் சிங்கம் என பெயரிட்டிருந்தனர். ஆனால் இப்பெயரை இயக்குநர் ஹரி ஏற்கனவே பதிவு செய்து வைத்திருந்ததால், அதை மாற்றி வில் என புதுப் பெயர் சூட்டினர்.

ஆனால் இதே பெயரில், எஸ்.ஜே.சூர்யாவின் இயக்கம் பிளஸ் நடிப்பில் ஒரு படம் உருவாகி வருகிறது. இதனால் விஜய் படப் பெயர் மாறுமா, மாறாதா என்ற குழப்பம் ஏற்பட்டது.

இந்த நிலையில் இன்று முதல் விஜய், பிரபுதேவாவின் புதுப் படத்தின் ஷூட்டிங் தொடங்கியது. படத்தின் பெயரை வில் என்பதற்குப் பதில் வில்லு என மாற்றி வைத்துள்ளனர்.

The filming of Villu is starting today following a pooja. This film has stirred the curiosity of the public for Prabhu Deva and Vijay are teaming up again; last time when Prabhu Deva directed Vijay in Pokkiri, it turned out to be a great hit.

Villu is a remake of the Hindi blockbuster Soldier, which starred Bobby Deol and Preity Zinta. And it looks like Bollywood and Kollywood have entered into some kind of exchange program. While Soldier is being remade in Tamil as Villu, Pokkiri is being remade in Hindi as Wanted: Dead or Alive with Salman Khan in the lead. Well, it looks like apart from cricket, cinema also unites India.

Soldier had a storyline and elements of cinema that were perfect enough to make a Vijay movie. With Prabhu Deva and Vijay teaming up again, it will be presented in a very interesting manner like last time. The original film's story is about a young man who avenges the gruesome death of an army officer who falls prey to a conspiracy. It also showcased the relationship between a mother and her son and was built around the sentiments involved in that relationship.

Villu is being produced under the banner of Ayngaran International Films Pvt. Ltd. by K. Karunamurthy and C. Arunpandian. Nayantara will be the female lead.

Music is by Devi Sri Prasad. It is not only the director and hero of Pokkiri teaming up again, but FEFSI Vijayan, the ace stunt choreographer of Pokkiri is also teaming up with them. Ravivarman takes care of the cinematography of Villu and Kola Bhaskar takes care of the editing work.

Vijay's next venture 'Vil' has kicked off in Palani and the actor is very keen to get things in order right from the outset. Both Vijay and Prabhu Deva, the director of the film, are very keen to cast Vadivelu in a meaty role. It can be recalled that Vadivelu came up with rib tickling stuff in 'Pokiri' that was appreciated by the masses.

Initially the project was named 'Singam', but then director Hari had copyrighted the name for the movie he's planning to make with Suriya. So the Vijay-Prabhu Deva duo decided on 'Vil'. It was only after that they came to know director S. J. Suryah had the same title for a Telugu film he was making with Pawan Kalyan.

Vijay reportedly convinced S. J. Suryah and had him change the title of the Telugu film title. S. J. Suryah has now decided on the name 'Puli' for his film.

With the name game settled now, the unit is concentrating hard to get the movie in a slick format. Grapevine has it that 'Vil' is the remake of a Hindi film by name 'Soldier'. Asin plays Vijay's leading lady once again.

The movie has cinematography by Ravi Varma, music by Devi Sri Prasad and stunts by Fefsi Vijayan.

விஜயின் புதிய படத்தின் பெயர் வில்லு என்பது ஏறக்குறைய முடிவாகிவிட்டது. ஐங்கரன் இண்டர்நேஷனல்ஸில் வில்லு, ஜூன் 6 ஆம் தேதியுடன் தனது பயணத்தை தொடங்குகிறதாம்.

விஜயின் ஜோடி நயன்தாரா என்பது ஒளிப்பதிவு ரவிவர்மன், இசை தேவிஸ்ரீ பிரசாத் என்பதும் ஏற்கனவே முடிவான விஷயம்.

'வில்லு'வில் இரண்டு வில்லாதி வில்லன்கள் இருக்கிறார்கள். ஒருவர் பிரகாஷ்ராஜ். இன்னொருவர் பிஜுமேனன். ஏற்கனவே தமிழ்ப் படங்களில் பிஜுமேனன் நடித்திருந்தாலும் அரசாங்கம் படத்திற்குப் பிறகு தமிழில் அதிக வாய்ப்புகள் வருகிறதாம். முதல் வாய்ப்பு வில்லு!

Vijay’s next film titled Vil

When Vijay films are announced, his fans are curious about the title, which they feel should be catchy. Prabhu Deva and Vijay, the winning team of Pokkiri, are back with their new film titled Vil (bow) produced by Ayngaran International.
There were media reports that Singam was the title though Vijay and Prabhu had denied it. Vil is a very catchy title and an action adventure film that will start rolling in the southern districts of Tamil Nadu and later travel to an exotic foreign location.

Prabhu Deva wants to make it a racy entertainer. With all the essential ingredients associated with a Vijay film in place, the buzz is that it is a remake of Soldier which starred Bobby Deol andPriety Zinta.

The film also has Nayanthara who will be paired with Vijay for the first time along with Vadivel, Prakash Raj and Biju Menon. Ravi Varman is the cameraman and music is by Devi Sri Prasad.

After ‘Kuruvi’, its time for ‘Vill’. Prabhu Deva will be wielding the megaphone for this Vijay starrer. The duo teamed up for the first time in the film, ‘Pokkiri’, which went on to be huge money grosser.

Initially, the project was christened ‘Singam’ meaning Lion. But then, director Hari had already registered the title. After hunting for a suitable title for quite some time, ‘Vill’ was decided upon.

Nayanthara will pair up with the highly successful Vijay and the movie would be produced by Ayngaran International and filming is slated to begin on the 7th of this month.

‘Kuruvi’ flies high in UK

Vijay starrer ‘Kuruvi’ is doing a successful business in UK box office. The blockbuster featuring Vijay, Trisha and Suman opened to bumper houses in Chennai.

Similarly at UK, the movie directed by Dharani and produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin, ‘Kuruvi’ is doing a decent business.

Four weeks after its release, ‘Kuruvi’ has managed to collect over Rs one crore in UK. It is still running in a couple of screens drawing good audience.

The ‘Gilli’ team comprising Vijay, Trisha, Vidyasagar and Dharani teamed up together again for ‘Kuruvi’.
