Vijay's fans will be delighted to hear that "Murasu" –Vijay's next film will take off with the non-stop shooting schedule starting from 13th March.It is double delight for the fans as Asin & Sindhu Thulani are pairedwith him.
Rajkiran will be playing a major role in this film. After the stupendous performance in "Thavamai Thavamirunthu" & "Sandai Kozhi", Rajkiran has already established a nice following for his performance.
Ekambaram will be the cinematographer and recently he had won the TamilNadu state award as the Best Cameraman Award for his work in the film"Iyarkai".The music director has not been finalized yet. And virtually it is arace between Vidyasagar & Sri Kanth Deva.
The successful director Perarasu will take care of story, screenplay, lyrics and his brother Muthuvadugu, who has been associated to Perarasu in Thirupaachi & Sivakasi and as Assistant to many films with Director Shankar earlier, will make directorial debut in this film.
Mr. Appachan, who had earlier produced "Friends" with Vijay & Surya, is the producer.The Picture is scheduled for Diwali release.

Vijay is one of the most sought-after heroes in Kollywood today and this demand has landed him in a new trouble this time around. His call sheet is jammed, as quite a few producers are still waiting to get his final nod.
Interestingly, he has given his call sheet to producer S.P.B. Charan.Producer Apachan is still waiting for Vijay's call sheet after their film'Puli' was shelved. The list doesn't stop here. Another producer Prakash Raj is also longing for Vijay's nod. His next film is likely to start after the completion of Prabudeva's 'Paurnami'.
However, the actor has agreed to actin S.P.B. Charan's next film. S.P.B. Charan's film 'Unnai Saranadaindhen' did reasonably well at the boxoffice but his last release 'Mazhai' failed in spite of the hype.
Now, he is looking forward to give out another big hit with Vijay and Lingusamy is expected to direct it. The director would start working on this film after the completion of 'Bheema'.

Vijay's Interview in Kumudham
This is translated from Kumudam's interview with Vijay. Vijay was interviewed by college students.
VIJAY: Hello, how are you all?

Sheeba: OK Vijay, what is ur secret of success, tell us the truth?
VIJAY: Hard work. Then luck. U shouldn't be afraid to hardwork, then u'll succeed.
Elizabeth: Sure. Why are you acting in commerial based subject with same style? Why don't u act in different styles?
VIJAY: I too wanted to act in different styles, but when I talk to my fans, I find that they want me act in this style. Their opinion is important to me. In Aathi, the intro song is not a Kuthu song as in my previous movies. But my fans asking "Why the intro song is not kuthu song?". I wanted to do a decent love story, therefore, I acted in Sachein, the A class audience enjoyed it. So, i act according to people's wish only. My fans expect Action, Sentiment, Love and Comedy in my movie.
Surya: Why don't u act in Maniratnam or Shankar's movie with ur style?
VIJAY: I always want to act in their movies, I'm waiting for the right time when they will be free. DHOOL KELEPIDELAM!

Elizabeth: Do u choose heroine for ur movie?

VIJAY: Giving hit movie is not in my hand alone. Its a team effort. Today's newcomers-each one has their own talents.
Aneesha: U r doing well in comedy, why dont do try for a villian role?
VIJAY: Pakka Villan means "No". I like MGR, Shivaji movies, in their movies, the hero is good guy, helping people and destroying villains. I too prefer to do positive hero roles. Maybe specially for u, I will act as negative hero, OK?

Vijay on low profile
After the Aathi fiasco, Vijay is keeping an extremely low profile. He was seen recently at Tamilnadu government award function; so that his detractors will not say that he is in the DMK camp. The issue over refunds to theatres who lost money on Aathi is yet to be resolved.

Aathi - Post Mortem Report
Aathi is not running as it is expected to be. Atleast not upto the standards of a Vijay movie in terms of box office. It is declared a flop by websites, with TV channels still giving a decent rating every Sunday in Top 10.
As a post mortem report, after watching the movie thrice, I would like to list down a few things which would say where efforts went waste, what could have been done better and what should be done in future.
1) Announced as Aadhi, but later released as "Aathi". SA Chandrasekar was producing the film where as before the release he changed to SA Chandrasekara(Thank God, it wasn't Vejai who acted in the film :P)... Same dialogue as Vijay said: "Numerology mela vecha nambikkaiya story/screenplay mela vechirukkanum"....
2) Remake to the core... The flavour of the story and screenplay need to be maintained but even nativity?? Even the U/A certification? How can the scenes in a Telugu movie suit Tamil audience? Ghilli would have been just another movie, had Dharani not made changes to the original script. It was 200% of the original, making it the biggest blockbuster of recent years.
3) Continuing with the above point, does a murder signifies only "Aruvaa vettu"? The whole of Vijay's family being killed by the villain was the main part of the story to develop.. If it was vettu, kuthu in Telugu, why again in Tamil? Aren't there dozens of ways to show how a family is uprooted??? One dozen of blood oozes could have been avoided here.
4) Same logic applies even to the interval scene. The most important thrill before the interval, turned out to be a comedy show. I will explain how, but later. But if in Telugu he was executed why the same in Tamil? Can't he be shooted out?? One more point added towards A certification.
5) The blunders in the name of special effects... For a few scenes and for few seconds, why can't it be done better? As mentioned above, the interval scene turned out to be a total no-logic comedy, with villain's head executed on the fly during a fall... Atleast the original style could have been retained here...
Any doubts on what I said, watch out the same scene in Telugu original....Make out the difference. (Or watch it in this alternative link)
6) How far do you need to stick to the original for a remake? Even the hero's shirt burning for 5 minutes in the climax fight that too in a poor graphic effect?? And each and every fight was retained to be as violent as in Telugu original, testing the patience of the audience.
7) The corrections made to the original script which are almost invisible in the film. Add to it thw worst ever editing, making scenes jump as they wish especially in the first half. Editing-isn't it the backbone for a movie? The editor has to be severely blamed here.
8) Finally was it a good script for a remake? Certainly not. It was the screenplay that was good in telugu, that too mainly in the form of a few notable scenes. It was overcooked again in the same vessel - which alienated the film from Tamil audience. Beautiful songs, excellent performances, good camera work, well choreographed stunts - When the foundation of "story and screenplay" falters what is the use of building a house with these??
It is indeed a lesson for anyone who wishes to do remakes. No nativity, no credibility. For Vijay it could be "Better luck next time".. But for director Ramanna it is a golden opportunity wasted -especially when this could have been his comeback after Sullan.
Today when I watch movies like Sandakozhi, Dishoom etc and compare it with the Pongal releases of 2006, I really feel sorry for Vijay, Ajith and Simbhu, heroes of Pongal releases. They have crossed the ages of the likes of Jeeva and Vishal.. But now they have typecasted themselves with an image and is it wise to make films only to satisfy your own fans?? It is rather too early for an actor to be typecasted.
Hope they realise this soon and comeup with projects which would be milestones of Tamil Cinema. They have more than half of their career ahead to prove themselves. :-)

Guess how Vijay spends his time at home? There he moves about his garden tending his pet plants and trees. Indoors it is his daughter and son that keep him engaged in joyous pastimes.
Come sunset, Vijay dons a helmet with visor that completely covers his face and takes off on his bicycle. He moves about lanes and alleys near the Elliots beach without anyone recognizing him and returns home unnoticed. This has become a passion with him.
"The freedom of anonymity is great!" says Vijay. True indeed for a man who is imprisoned by celebrity status.

Vijay is very careful about the next step he is going to take. The `Aathi' disaster has really shaken up Vijay. He still can't digest the fact that theatre owners have been so tough on him for his one film being a flop at the box office.
Now, he takes all the time in the world to listen patiently to a story. Hari who has just finished `Aaru' has made a story ready forVijay. Like `Samy' it's about men in uniform. Another project with story, screenplay and dialogues by Perarasu is gettingready in the name of `Murasu.'
Vijay is supposed to be more in favor of `Murasu' but will take his decision only after it has been further polished. Muthu Vadugu will direct`Murasu.' Then there's Selvaraghavan's film. Anyone who has seen`Kadhal Kondein' and `7G Rainbow Colony' will get a doubt about Selvaraghavan's taste, but his speech wipes any doubts away.
Surprisingly, his aim is to direct a romantic film with heroes like Vijayakanth and Sarath Kumar, who are not really romance material. Another hero on his list is Vijay. "I want to make a film with Vijay and Meera Jasmine." One of his wishes will come true after `Murasu.' After directing Venkatesh in a Telugu film, he will get to direct Vijay.
At least in this film, will Vijay refrain from throwing out challenges to his opponents?Selvaraghavan has the strings to make Vijay act!

From a die-hard Vijay fan
These are questions in my heart for a long time. Time has come to ask them in public:
1) Being next only to Rajini in terms of fan following, why he is not geting his fans support in the huge media of Internet? He is the one who is most criticised badly in web forums, groups and cine websites. Even though it doesn't matter much for his popularity, why none of his fans raise voice against this and are silent observers?
2) With so much of love and afftection from mass category, what is his status in the minds of class audience? Again he is the one who is always bashed up in corporate forums(personal experience) and he is portrayed as a joker through SMS messages and chain mails... (Mind you, I received over 10 copies of "Pls help this guy" in last 1 day)
3) Has he degraded from class hero category gained through films Kaadhalukku Mariyaadhai and Kushi? Oflate, his films do better in B and C centers than in A centers, giving enough room for people to stamp him as a B grade hero(He is called so and I have painfully seen it in a web forum). What should he do to regain his status amongst city audience? (I know there are lots of his fans among city audience but his films are still not aceptable to all classes)
4) Why is he hesitant to try something away from usual masala routine inspite of having so much of talent? Is it because his films with a difference like Kannukkul Nilavu, Sachien and Aathi did not receive the expected response? Again, when people are cribbing about the need of something different from him, why is it not getting appreciated?
5) Who the hell on the earth made Vijay think that his fans love only masala stuff? If I get to see that person, I will hang him to death. And please, please, Perarasu, Hari are not class directors in any way, they may give huge hits, but their stories are at a level that should be enacted by Sarath Kumar or Sathyaraj(very sorry to say this). And he has to become a director's guy to make his journey legendary in Tamil Cinema history... When will Vijay realise this?
6) When crappy mails are forwarded and messages sent through SMS degrading Vijay, why are we not doing anything to stop such things and wasting our time comparing other actors with Vijay? Comparing Vijay with Rajini is not at all healthy in any way and we are going to be the losers fighting with Rajini fans...(Coz their strength also constitutes good amount of Vijay fans)Such egoistic statements pulled down that A actor's reputation once and I never ever want that to happen for Vijay.
7) Why the hell is Vijay trying to be friendly with that A actor, when he does not deserve it? First they banked upon the late release of Aathi to claim their film had a huge opening... Now, I read in a forum the other actor's fan commenting like this:
"Vijay did not attend the pooja of Thirupathi movie to wish A actor, but he came to AVM for asking a chance to act in AVM movie to Saravanan. On the way, he dropped in to the function. Since Saravanan refused his offer he had used his brother Balasubramanian to produce his future movie using the feud between the two brothers"
This is just a sample. 100's of such stories are revolving around the powerful internet, imagine the impact it could have on those browsing such items. Ultimately, our aim is to keep Vijay in high esteem. Yahoo groups is one way of it, but there are lots more battles to be fought on the net to save this esteem forever. Unfortunately, lack of fan power in such sties and forums paves way for spreading bad things about Vijay.
All I want to say to Vijay fans, is expand your horizons over the net, keep spreading good things about Vijay through word of mouth(Nothing wrong, its not cheap publicity)... Time has come to show our fan power and put an end point to all craps on Vijay.

Junior Vijay's queries to Papa Vijay

Actor Vijay has a problem at home. Sibling rivalry! Ever since the new arrival of a baby daughter Divya at home, his son has become jealous. The son feels that the he is not getting his due attention because of the newarrival.
He would throw tantrums and not look at the baby at all. However that has changed, thanks to Vijay counseling his son. Yet the boy keeps asking Vijay, "You love me still, don't you?" That evokes a caring smile and hug from Vijay.
Vijay's son studies in a school inAdayar. Whenever Vijay is not shooting, he drops his son at school and picks him up in the evening. By the way, his daughter's name Divya is an anagram of his dead sister's name Vidya.

Aathi (Vijay) has a mission to accomplish. To carry this out, he joins a college in Chennai against the wishes of his parents (Seethaand Manivannan). Anjali (Trisha) is also a student of the same college. Both Anjali and Aathi lead a life of gilded surface, which disguises the darkness beneath. Both, Aathi and Anjali want to avenge the killers of their parents.
The irony is that they both aim the same killers, without the other knowing about this.Aathi and Anjali cross each other on several occasions in the college, and soon they understand that they both have same tastes and liking. As the life goes, their relationship advances. Oncewhile performing rites, Aathi recognizes his Uncle (Nasser) andlearns that Anjali is his own Uncle's daughter. Together they decide to assassinate the baddies RDX (Saikumar) and his henchmen. How they accomplish this forms the rest of the story.
Vijay as Aathi excels in his performance and his screen presences is terrific. He fits the role of a cold-blooded undercover assassin andthe actions scenes by Peter Haynes are well choreographed. For a change, Trisha has got equal footage as Vijay and she has also given a commendable performance. She looks ravishing especially in song sequences. The lead pair's well-known chemistry once again comes alive on screen.
Saikumar from Tollywood as RDX has performed brilliantly. He is a perfect choice for the crude character. Vivek as a mild, well-manned sidekick manages to tickle the funny bone in his cameo. Prakash Raj,Nasser, Manivannan and Seetha have done their brief rolls well.The film has a high dose of violence and not many lighter moments.
Though the first half of the film is good the second half s a trifle dull and drags as it show the hero assassinating all the villains and hence become predictable.Director Ramanaa may have a valid excuse to justify the overdose of violence; after all it's a remake. However, better editing could have made the film crisper.
Vidyasagar's music is good. Particularly the song "Olli, Olli Iduppe..." stands out. Soundarrajan's camera has captured some scenic locals of Switzerland in song sequences.Though not bracingly pleasurable, the movie is worth for its well etched out dialogues, racy action sequences and Vijay's brisk acting.

Vijay at 4th place in Loyola college Survey
Loyola College has been conducting various surveys year after year on several subjects. This time an army of 18 people marched under the leadership of Prof. Bishop Rajanayakam. They have conducted several surveys on various issues in all districts except in Nilagiri. Yesterday they made the results public.
One item that is a matter of interest for us has found place in it. That is concerning the Top 10 list of actors.
Clinging on to the last name in the list is Sharat Kumar. He could secure only 1.5 points. The 9th place goes to Surya who has captured 3 points. Re-entering through 'Paramasivan' Ajith is in the 8th place with 3.1 points. Next in 7th place is Vikram with 3.2 points. Kamal could secure only 7.5 points and is ranked at 6th.
What is interesting about this Top 10 list is that even after their passing away, both M.G.R. and Sivaji have secured 13 points and 9.6 points and placed at 3rd and 5th ranks respectively. Between these two giants is our own Thirumalai Vijay securing 10 points.
Vijayakanth who had started a new political party has been blessed by Tamil people with the 2nd position with 13.9 points. But the one who is racing ahead with 18.9 points and occupying the No.1 rank is Rajini.
In the last year survey conducted during April, Rajini was in No.2 rank. 'Chandramuki's' success catapulted Rajini to No.1 rank.
