Vijay’s Villu is shaping up very well with a good number of scenes being canned in Palani and Karaikudi. Director Prabhu Deva also has plans to shoot the song sequences in Italy apart from a few scenes. Fans are aware that Prabhu Deva has had a penchant for songs and dance even when he was an actor himself.

Most of the films in which he played the hero had some great songs with unmatched dance performances. He stuck to this trend even after donning the director’s mantle. In Villu, Prabhu Deva intends to film an “experimental” dance with Vijay and Nayanthara. This “experimental” dance will also be filmed in Italy.

இன்றைக்கு அப்படியெல்லாம் ஒரே ஜோடியுடன் எந்த ஹீரோ நடித்தாலும் ஒப்புக் கொள்வதில்லை ரசிகர்கள். முன்னணி நடிகரான விஜய்யும்கூட அதற்கு விதிவிலக்கல்ல...

கில்லி படம் வெளி வந்ததும் தமிழ் சினிமாவின் அசத்தல் ஜோடி விஜய் - த்ரிஷாதான் என்றார்கள். ஏற்கெனவே இந்த இருவரும் திருப்பாச்சியில் ஜோடி போட்டு, அந்தப் படமும் வெற்றி விழா கண்டிருந்தது.

விஜய்யையும் த்ரிஷாவையும் சேர்த்து ஒரு படத்தில் புக் செய்வது தயாரிப்பாளரின் அதிர்ஷ்டம் என்று பேசப்பட்டது.

அந்த நேரத்தில்தான் விஜய்யுடன் ஜோடி சேர்ந்தார் அசின், சிவகாசியில். படம் சூப்பர் டூப்பர் கலெக்ஷன். அடுத்த படத்திலேயே மீண்டும் விஜய்யுடன் ஜோடி சேர்ந்தார் த்ரிஷா, ஆதியில். விஜய்யின் மோசமான பட வரிசையில் அந்தப் படம் இடம் பிடித்துக் கொள்ள, அடுத்த படமான போக்கிரியில் மீண்டும் அசின். இருநூறு நாள் படமாக அமைந்தது போக்கிரி.

அழகிய தமிழ் மகனில் ஸ்ரேயா-நமீதாவுடன் விஜய் நடித்தது எடுபடவில்லை. மீண்டும் தனக்கு ராசியான நடிகை எனப்பட்ட த்ரிஷாவுடன் குருவியில் இணைந்தார். ஆரம்பத்தில் இப் படத்தில் விஜய்க்கு ஜோடி யார் என்பதில் பெரிய மியூசிக்கல் சேர் போட்டியே நடந்தது.

முதலில் ஸ்ரேயா, அடுத்து வித்யா பாலன் என பேசப்பட்டு இறுதியில் நயன்தாரா என முடிவானது. ஆனால் என்ன மாயமோ அடுத்த சில தினங்களிலேயே அந்த இடத்தைப் பிடித்துவிட்டார் த்ரிஷா.

ஆனால் த்ரிஷாவின் நட்பு அலுத்துவிட்டதோ என்னமோ... சென்னை சூப்பர் கிங்ஸ் அணிக்கு பிராண்ட் அம்பாஸிடராகத் தன்னுடன் நயன்தாராவை நியமிக்குமாறு விஜய்தான் சிபாரிசு செய்தாராம்.

இடையில் ஏவிஎம் குருநாத் செய்த குழப்பம், அதிலிருந்து நயனை பாதியிலேயே கழட்டிவிட வைத்தது. அந்த இடத்தைப் பிடிக்க த்ரிஷா பலமாக முயற்சி செய்தும், விஜய் விரும்பாததால் அந்த இடம் காலியாகவே விடப்பட்டது நினைவிருக்கலாம்.

இப்போது வில்லு படத்தில் முதல்முறையாக விஜய்யுடன் ஜோடி சேர்கிறார் நயன்தாரா. இந்தப் படம் ஆரம்பிக்கப்படுவதற்கு முன்பே தனக்கு ஜோடி நயன்தாராதான் என்பதைத் தெளிவாகச் சொல்லிவிட்டாராம் விஜய்.

விஜய்யின் இந்த மனநிலையைப் புரிந்து கொண்ட நயன்தாராவும், அந்த இடத்தைக் கெட்டியாகப் பிடித்துக் கொண்டுள்ளார். சமீபத்தில் விஜய் தன் ரசிகர் மன்றத்துக்காக தனிக்கொடி அறிமுகப்படுத்தியபோது கொள்கைப் பரப்புச் செயலாளர் மாதிரி கூடவே நின்று போஸ் கொடுத்து விஜய் ரசிகர்களின் அன்பை அள்ளிக் கொண்டார் நயன்தாரா.

விஜய்யுடன் நெருக்கமாக இருந்த த்ரிஷாவோ, அவரது விருப்ப நாயகி ஆசினோ இந்த நிகழ்ச்சிக்கு வரவில்லை என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

விசாரித்தால், விஜய் ஒரு தெளிவான ஹீரோ... யாருக்கு கமர்ஷியல் மார்க்கெட் உள்ளதோ அவர்களை தன் படத்தில் பயன்படுத்திக் கொள்ள வேண்டும் என்பதில் தெளிவாக இருப்பார். அந்த வகையில்தான் இப்போது தொடர்ந்து வெற்றிப் படங்களில் நாயகியாகத் திகழும் நயன்தாராவைச் சேர்த்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார்.

'Ilaya Thalapathy' Vijay is busy shooting for ‘Villu’. The movie, directed by Prabhudeva and produced by Ayngaran Films International, kicked off in Karaikudi recently.

A number of scenes featuring Vijay and Nayantara were shot in Karaikudi. And now the buzz is that the crew would shoot a major portion of the film in Italy. The script involves a foreign country in the second half and so the crew will be heading for Italy this July.

Sources close to Prabhu Deva reveal that he has also planned to shoot two song sequences in exotic Italy.

It sure would be interesting to see Vijay chasing and hunting down the baddies in this European country. Nayantara sizzled with her attitude and attractive modern costumes in ‘Billa’ and the movie was set in Malaysia. So, foreign destinations suit her big time and with Nayantara on song now, one can expect Prabhu Deva to exploit her talents.

Vijay Releases 'Muniyandi….' Audio

Muniyandi, Vilangiyal Moondram Aandu, is an interesting title of the second celluloid venture of Thirumurugan who gave an enjoyable family based clean film Emmagan some time back. The director has teamed up with Bharath and Vadivelu once again in this film. Newcomer Poorna plays the love interest of Bharath in MVM.

The audio launch of the film was recently held at a new star hotel at Old Mahabalipuram Road which was attended by Ilaya Thalapathy along with the crew associated with the film. Music has been scored by Vidya Sagar while lyrics are penned by Vairamuthu.

While speaking on the occasion, Vijay said that he is very fond of actress Asin and now that she is concentrating more in Hindi films, she is being missed by everyone including him. But while looking at Poorna, Vijay said that she has a striking resemblance to Asin and he also wished the young actress that she should prove herself just like Asin. Poorna, the debutant was undoubtedly pleased to receive such an appreciation from a star like Vijay.

Innovative audio launch functions seem to be the order of the day in Tamil Cinema. Bharath starrer ‘Muniyandi Vilangiyal Moonramaandu’ had its audio launch near Chennai on Monday.

Unlike usual audio release functions, the event witnessed the director, the music composer and the lyricist describing the hard work put behind composing every song and even briefed the media about the situation of the songs in the film.

Director Thirumurugan, music composer Vidyasagar and lyricist Vairamuthu hogged the limelight talking about the intricacies that went into making the songs.

Actor Vijay released the first copy of the audio and expressed his hope that the movie would go on to become a hit.

Vairamuthu made many valid points on contemporary Tamil film music. He said, 'the kuthu songs (fast beats) have overshadowed melodious songs and the hard work of lyricists is lost with heavy music'.

He also urged music-lovers to give due recognition to the lyricists. Vidyasagar expressed his hope that the album would top the charts.

Producer Dathao Duraisinghavelu, actor Prabhu and Thirumurugan also spoke on the occasion.

இன்னொரு அசின்!- முனியாண்டி ஹீரோயினை பாராட்டிய விஜய்

ஒரு அசின் போனாலும், இன்னொரு அசின் கிடைத்திருக்கிறார் என்று ஒரு புதுமுக நடிகையை பாராட்டினால் எப்படியிருக்கும்? அதுவும் அடுத்த சூப்பர் ஸ்டார் என்று நம்பப்படும் விஜய் வாயாலேயே அந்த வார்த்தைகள் வந்தால்? திக்குமுக்காடி போனார் பூரணா.

'முனியாண்டி விலங்கியல் மூன்றாம் ஆண்டு' படத்தின் ஆடியோ வெளியீட்டு விழாவில் கலந்து கொண்டார் நடிகர் விஜய். நான்கு பாடல்களை திரையிட்டார்கள். அவற்றை பார்த்துவிட்டு அசந்து போன விஜய், படத்தின் நாயகி பூரணாவின் நடிப்பை வியந்து பாராட்டினார். அப்போது, 'அசின் ஹிந்தி படங்களில் நடிப்பதற்காக மும்பையிலேயே செட்டில் ஆயிட்டதா சொல்றாங்க. அவங்க போனாலும், அவங்க இடத்தில் நடிக்க இன்னொரு அசின் கிடைத்திருக்கிறார்' என்று பூரணாவை பாராட்ட, சந்தோஷத்தில் முகம் சிவந்தார் பூரணா!

'எனக்கு மெலடியை விட குத்துப்பாட்டுதான் ரொம்ப பிடிக்கும். இந்த படத்தில் வந்த குத்துப்பாடல்கள் சூப்பர்' என்றார் விஜய். முன்னதாக பேசிய கவிப்பேரரசு வைரமுத்து, 'ஒருபடத்தில் பத்து பாடல்கள் இருந்தாலும், அத்தனையும் குத்துப் பாடல்களாக இருக்க வேண்டும் என்ற நிலை வந்துவிட்டது. இது மாற வேண்டும். குத்துப்பாடல்கள் அவசியம்தான். ஆனால் இலை முழுக்க ஊறுகாயை வைத்தால் சாப்பிட முடியுமா?' என்றார். சற்று தாமதமாக வந்த விஜய், வைரமுத்துவின் பேச்சை கேட்க முடியாமல் போனதால் குத்துப்பாடல்களுக்கு ஆதரவாக பேச வேண்டிய சூழ்நிலை தானாகவே அமைந்து விட்டது.

This film that brings Thirumugan-Bharath together after 'M.Mahan'has a new face Poorna as Bharath's pair. Vadivelu is also acting in an interesting role. For Vairamuthu's lyrics, Vidyasagar has composed music.

The audio release function took place yesterday at Asiana Hotel in Solinganallur near Chennai. The songs were released by Vijay and received by Prabhu.

In the days when even the lyricists were not allowed on the stage, this function was different as the lyricist himself invited the singers to the stage and explained the process of creating the songs.

When Vijay spoke he gave the title of 'Chinna Asin' to Poorna who was overjoyed and thanked Vijay.

It is learnt that Muniyandi is the name of director Thirumurugan's father. He said the title of the film is made after his name who died recently.

No intention of starting a party - Vijay

To the people of Tamilnadu who are used to the talk of actresses saying 'we are just good friends' and actors saying 'I have no desire to join politics, but anything may happen tomorrow', Vijay made a statement.

To the question the press has been asking for some time if he had any intention to join politics, Vijay's statement yesterday give two types of answers.

Yesterday was Vijay's birthday. The place he celebrated it with friends and fans was University Centenary Hall that belongs to the Government.

Those who expressed best wishes with a bouquet included producers Thanu, R.B.Chowdhary, A.M.Ratnam, London Karunakaran, actors Sathyaraj, Prabhuvdeva, Raghava Lawrance, Sriman, Dhamu and actress Nayantara.

As an additional excitement, Vijay introduced the flag for his welfare association. The white flag with a circle in blue had in it Vijay's image with raised index finger. It had the words 'Uzhaithidu, uyarndhidu and 'Unnal mudiyum' inscribed in it.

Speaking on the occasion Sathyaraj said that after M.G.R.'s films he was attracted only by Vijay's films and that after the songs of M.G.R.'s films,the songs in Vijay's films had social messages which moved the media persons.

Vijay's father and the Honorary Leader of Vijay Fan Club, S.A.C. gave an impression in his speech that Vijay's entry into politics is a certainty.

He said very diplomatically "I showed Vijay the road to become an actor. All the credit for his success belongs to him. Similarly another road is shown today (indicating the new flag). No one can say what tomorrow will be like. People who worked for the society are leaders today. Those who work for the people may become leaders tomorrow. And Vijay is doing that work today".

But Vijay's speech was in another direction.

When he said "the flag was introduced only at the request of the fans and there is no politics or party to it. Politics is no ordinary thing. Leaders of many parties are my fans and I see no reason to start a party. Starting a party may make me loose opportunities as an actor", there was a chemical change in the face of S.A.Chandrasekaran.

Vijay celebrated his birthday in style on Sunday, June 22, 2008, by releasing a flag for his fans’ association. The function was held at the Centenary Hall in the University of Madras campus where the star also cut a birthday cake as a part of the celebrations.

Speaking at the well-attended function, Vijay said that the flag for his fans association does not mean that he is nursing ambitions to enter into politics. He also insisted that one need not be a politician to do good to the society.

The white color flag had a blue circle in the middle with Vijay’s photo imprinted on it. The words on the flag were: Uzhathidu, Uyarndhidu, Unnal Mudiyum.

Noted personalities that attended the function were: directors Dharani, Prabhu Deva and Ramana; producers R.B. Choudhury, A.M. Ratnam, Kalaipuli S. Dhanu and Karunamoorthy; actors Sathyaraj, Lawrence, Nayathara and cameraman Ravi Varman. Vijay father, director S.A. Chandrasekar was also present at the function.

Vijay's fans are in for treat on his birthday that falls on June 22nd. The actor has decided to gift his fans with a flag for their social welfare organization. It is well known that Rajini's fans have a flag for their association. Vijayakanth had a flag for his fans association even before he floated the political party.

Disclosing more details about it, Vijay's father, director S.A. Chandrasekar, said that a function will be held at the Centenary Hall in the University of Madras to release the flag. He also said that only five members from each organization will be allowed inside the function venue due to space constraints.

It was the time of their lives for most Vijay fans who had gathered to celebrate their icon's birthday at the University Centenary Auditorium in Chennai on Sunday. Their favorite hero launched a flag for his fans association.

The flag had his image and the words Unnal Mudiyum meaning 'You Can'.

Fans from various parts of Tamilnadu along with their Chennai counterparts had come over for the occasion. They shouted slogans cheering Vijay who made a dashing entry to the podium.

Speaking after launching the flag, Vijay asserted very clearly, 'don't think that I am launching a party or entering politics with this flag. A friend of mine wanted me to have a flag and so I launched it. It is not necessary to be in politics to do good things for the people.'

He urged his fans to stand united and contribute their best for the betterment for the society.

Vijay also cut a cake on the occasion and exchanged pleasantries with his fans.

Others present include Vijay's father S. A. Chandrasekhar, Nayantara, Dharani, Sathyaraj, Sriman, Dhamu, R B Chowdry, A M Rathnam, Kalipuli Thanu and Prabhudeva.

CHENNAI: Confetti rained, balloons floated down, fans whistled, screamed and waved and the flag of actor Vijay’s fan clubs fluttered in the air.

On Sunday, the actor celebrated his birthday, along with his fans, at the Madras University Centenary Auditorium by unveiling the flag—his image in a blue circle on a white background, and the phrases ‘uzhaithidu’ (work hard), ‘uyarndhidu’ (succeed) and ‘unnaal mudiyum’ (you can do it) emblazoned on it.

“With this flag, I am not launching a party or entering politics. A friend of mine from Erode wanted me to have a flag and start a party. I refused to start a party, and so I launched the flag. It is not necessary to be in politics to do good things for the people. All you need is good intensions.”

Actor Vijay’s father director S.A. Chandrasekar said the flag was launched to encourage the fan clubs to keep up their good deeds.

“You cannot build a fan following with money; what you need is a good heart that knows to give. And Vijay’s fans do not have to be told to do good deeds. The flag will show the right path these youngsters must tread.”

Actors Sathyaraj, Nayanthara, Sriman and Dhamu, directors Dharani, Ramana and Prabhudeva, producers R.B. Chowdary, A.M. Rathnam and Kalaipuli Thanu, choreographer Lawrence, cameraman Ravi Varman and FEFSI Vijayan were present.

Police and private security personnel had a tough time controlling the crowd.

Putting to rest speculations about his entry into politics, actor Vijay on Sunday unveiled the flag of his fan club at a grand function organised to celebrate his birthday.

The star, who spoke on the occasion, said that he decided to opt for a flag after a friend in Erode requested him to start a party, have a flag and enter politics. "I told him that it isn't easy to start a party. Moreover, my fans are there in all parties. I want to remain neutral."

"However, I told him that I will have a flag for my Narpani Mandram. It's not that you have to be in a political party to do good deeds. My fans are already doing a lot of good deeds and they will continue to do so," he said to thunderous applause at the University auditorium.

The flag, which has a blue sphere on a white background with Vijay's picture, also has the words uzhaithidu (work) and uyarnthidu ( succeed) on it. It was unfurled by the star along with his father and certain members of the fan clubs, including the state head of the fan clubs Jeyaseelan and state secretary Ravirajan.

Several stars from the tinsel world were present on the occasion. Prominent among those present were actors Sathyaraj, Prabhu Deva, Sreeman, Lawrence Raghavendra, and Damu, actress Nayanthara, directors Dharani, and Ramanna and producers R B Choudary and A M Rathnam.

Speaking on the occasion, Sathyaraj said that actor Vijay had met him once in Pollachi 12 years back. " I was then shooting for the movie Amaidhi Padai and he was acting in the movie Senthoora Pandi. I was celebrating my birthday at the Sakthi hotel and he attended the function too. He was silent then. Now, his popularity has risen and he has scores of fans but still, he continues to remain calm and composed as ever. I'm proud to call him my younger brother," he said.

Director Dharani said, "Everybody needs an identity. The world has to know how we worked and succeeded and that is why we have the flag. Everytime, people look at it they should get inspired."

Actor Vijay’s birthday, celebrated in a grand manner, served as the occasion for the launch of a flag for his fan clubs.

Vijay donated 35 gold rings to newborns who were born on his birthday in Chennai Egmore Maternity Hospital and also conducted a blood donation camp.

The function held to celebrate his birthday was full of fun and frolic, and music numbers from Vijay’s super hit films were played. The fans were enthralled when Ilayathalapathy appeared on stage. Apart from Vijay, Nayantara was the cynosure at the function. Sathyaraj and Lawrence too were present.

Then Vijay launched the flag for his fan clubs. The flag will charge up any Vijay fan with loads and loads of energy as the flag depicts actor Vijay pointing his index finger with a slogan below his photograph which says “Unnal Mudiyum” (You can). I’m a huge fan of Prabhu Deva and think his dance movements are graceful and amusing to all part of the audiences. I missed working for Pokkiri and it is my pleasure to be with him in his new venture. Vijay again is somebody I adore. He is a formulaic actor like MGR. It is an interesting combo.

Ilayathalapathy Vijay celebrates his birthday today.

With a huge fan following, Vijay is one of the biggest stars in Kollywood today. Having debuted as a child actor in his father producer-director S.A. Chandrashekar's films, Vijay moved on to lead roles. From romantic hero to action hero, Vijay has created a niche for himself in the Tamil film industry. So popular is the actor today that Abhishek Bachchan is dancing to his hit song 'Apadi Podu' in a TV ad for a popular mobile brand!

Vijay's biggest hits include Kadhalakku Mariyadai, Friends, Priyamanavale, Kushi, Ghilli, Thirupachi, Sivakasi and the biggest blockbuster of his career Pokkiri. His last release Kuruvi has also done decently well.

Vijay was chosen as the brand ambassador for the IPL team Chennai Super Kings. The actor was present for most of the matches of CSK, cheering the team and dancing to the drums of Sivamani celebrating every big hit and victory of the team. Vijay is now geared up for his next venture Villu with Prabhudeva, the man who gave him Pokkiri.

Last year on his birthday the actor visited the Egmore Government hospital and gave gold rings to the children born on his birthday. He also participated in a blood donation and eye camp. The actor has always wanted his fans to celebrate his birthday through social causes.

This year his birthday will be celebrated at Madras University Hall.

Tomorrow is Vijay's birthday. His fans are planning to celebrate it in a grand manner.

Vijay has been celebrating his birthday by meeting his fans, involving in welfare activities and visiting orphanages. This birthday again will not be short of similar activities and the fans are happy for an additional reason.

It is a practice in Tamilnadu to celebrate Vijay's film releases by stringing together colourful flags with Vijay's photographs and displaying them throughout Tamilnadu.

On his birthday tomorrow Vijay will be unveiling a new flag. His fans are happy taking this as an indication of Vijay entering politics.

He will be discussing with the office bearers of the assosciations from across Tamilnadu.

Though Vijay may not announce his intention to enter politics, his fans are happy in anticipation.

Vijay's decision proves wise

After haggling over for a title for their film, Vijay and director Prabhu Deva finally decided to name their film Vil. But when sources pointed out that the title has already been taken up S.J. Suryah, the clever duo modified it to Villu, in spite S.J. Suryah's assurance that Vil has been shelved due to unforeseen circumstances.

Well, the decision to be in the safer side seems to have paid off now, as S.J. Suryah has decided to recommence the film. In fact, Vil's teaser trailer, which was done by director Prabhakaran, was so good that S.J. Suryah now thinks it would be wise to resume the film. Talks are on with the producers in this regard.
