A slip of the hand spelt death
The sight was enough to send a shiver down the spine. We decided to just wander around AVM Studios and generally check out on what was happening. What should we see but someone hanging upside down from a height of 40 feet.
"What wrong has the man done to be punished like this by heartless fiends?" Just as we were debating the cause, there was a sharp rap on the head. It was director Ramana. He asked, "How's Vijay's performance?" and we looked at him questioningly.
"I am referring to the man who's hanging upside down without a dupe," he said and only then did it dawn on us that it was Vijay! Even though the director had wanted to use a dupe for the scene, Vijay was adamant that he would do it himself.
Till the scene was over and Vijay came down to terra firma, our hair stood up in tension!

Sivakasi takes it all
The collection at Kolathur Ganga theatre on Diwali day was a whooping Rs.7.26 lakhs. Meanwhile, another big film ‘Maja’ failed terribly at the box office. The trade feels that the film failed due to lack of confinement. Moreover, the audience doesn’t want to see Vikram with such a weak character. The collection of the film is dipping every passing day. However, other Deepavali releases ‘Athu Oru Kana Kalam’ and ‘Perusu’ were utter flops. The collection of these films is meager.

Prabhu and Sathyaraj outdo each other in praising Vijay
- 28.11.2005
There's a lot of drama happening with Prabhu and Sathyaraj vying to head the Vijay fan club!
Vijay recently participated in a function in Chennai. At the same time, Prabhu and Sathyaraj ascended the dais and heaped praise on the Ilaya Dalapathy, as if trying to outdo each other.
"For my son Sibu's birthday, my daughter always gifts him a DVD of Vijay's film. Sibi is that crazy about Vijay. Given the chance, he will even start a Vijay fan club!"
The Puratchi Thamizhan had barely finished when Prabhu continued the flattery. "There's a Vijay fan club in my house too. My elder brother's son Dushyanth is always singing Vijay's praises."
As both the senior actors continued in this vein, the actual head of the Vijay fan club who was standing nearby had an expression on his face that said, "Oh, my god! Looks like there's competition for my post!"

Vijay is a man of pleasing demeanour
Actor Vijay needs no introduction. For a hero with `mass appeal', he is extremely affable. His elevation to stardom has not been meteoric but gradual.
"I planned it that way. I could have easily selected the roles I am doing now five or six years back, I am sure I would have succeeded. But my parents did not want my rise to be quick. Hence, I was prudent in selecting characters which would strengthen my career in films," the teenage heartthrob shared his secret of success during a visit to Sivakasi on the eve of his latest release of same name.
Hard worker
For a person with such a huge fan following and a string of successes, he is demure to the core. He knows both his strength and weakness well. "I will never over-do things. I know my limitations and work sincerely within them." Like many other Kollywood heroes, he too struggled before becoming a money-spinner.
His charisma is no less than any other top Kollywood star. He has brilliantly read the pulse of his fans: "I have come the hard way. My parents were always supportive and I was in a position to translate promises into results. Initially I played soft emotional characters and gradually shifted to action-packed roles. It was purely intentional and well planned."
His boyish looks work to his advantage and he selects roles that have a good reach among teenagers. No wonder then, that most of his fans are youths. Vijay also cherishes this status.
"I am what I am for my fans. I try to make them feel good. I want all ingredients in my movie. I am for commercial movies, which have fight, comedy and romance. I am very much involved in the movies I do. I am as interested as the director or the producer. But this should not be taken as interference. It is only participation out of interest. And it is showing good results," says the charismatic hero.
The current bunch of actors work on characters they play and Vijay too believes in it. But he follows a different style.
"I do a lot of home work. I follow real life characters, observe their movements and incorporate them in my movies. At present, I am shooting for `Puli' in which I play a police officer. I am trying to shape myself as a police officer, it is part of the job. Every actor is expected to do it."
Story is the hero
Vijay believes in intrinsic value of the story. "The story is the hero. There cannot be any story tailor-made for a hero. Of course, the content requires certain modifications to suit the hero, but the entire story cannot be tampered with. I never believe in making up," he asserts.
He is impressed by the competition among budding Kollywood heroes including Chimbhu, Dhanush and Jayam Ravi. "I like all the heroes. It proves there is no dearth of talent in acting. The competitive field brings out the best in them," says Vijay.
He values the contribution of his wife to his movies. "My wife takes care of my costumes. She also wishes to be a part of my movies, which is a good sign," he chuckles. Vijay is also involved in social service. "I know my fans have volunteered to serve for the welfare of family members of Tsunami victims. I am happy as long as they are useful and do good to the society. ," he beams with pride.
His next movie is `Aadhi' directed by Ramana, and planned for Pongal release.

Vijay dislikes direction, plans to make home production leading

SIVAKASI (Tamil)
Directed by Perarasu
Starring Vijay, Asin, Prakash Raj, Geetha, Lakshana, Sakunthala, M.S. Bhaskar
THIS movie has been drawing the crowd since it opened for Deepavali. It has been doing better business than Vikram's Majaa (the other Deepavali release), both here and in India. This goes to prove that Vijay has more fans, especially among the young. But don't go expecting a Gilli (Vijay's massive hit last year with Trisha and Prakash Raj). That was a movie with a serious theme.
Sivakasi is a full-length comedy (despite its mother-sentiment moments) and will leave you smiling. Expect to see the hero thrashing the baddies - in fact you see them flying through walls with just one punch — and some illogical twists in the story. But despite the hiccups, Vijay is fun to watch and the humour is infectious.Even lawyers in India have joined in the "fun". They are threatening to sue the film producer for maligning their profession. In the movie, a comedian (M.S. Bhaskar), acting as a lawyer, sleeps on the five-foot way and is the butt of jokes.
DREAM SONG:
Vijay (left) and Asin having fun in SivakasiVijay plays a poor welder called Sivakasi who is a good fighter. Rich girl Hema (Asin) falls for him and Sivakasi opens his heart to her. In a flashback, the hero tells Hema about his past life and how he had run away from home. Hema insists that he revisit his village and come back with his family to seek her hand in marriage.
The rest of the movie tells what happens when Sivakasi returns home.Director Perarasu, who also helmed Vijay's Thirupatchi, paces the story well. The events have the necessary momentum to take viewers to the climax without being boring.
Cameraman Sunny V. Joseph, who did excellent work in superstar Rajnikanth's Chandramukhi, also does well in Sivakasi. Srikanth Deva has tuned the six songs and most have already become popular with radio listeners, especially Vaada Vaada Tholah and Deepavali Deepavali.
It definitely was a blast watching Sivakasi (named after the Indian town famous for its firecrackers)

Sivakasi - Movie Review 9
Courtesy: rediff.com
Shobha Warrier November 08, 2005 15:50 IST
The Tamil Diwali release Sivakasi is like a pack of assorted crackers, with almost all the varieties made in the famed Sivakasi town of Tamil Nadu. It has sparklers, flower pots, 'atom' bombs, Lakshmi vedis… every cracker available in the market, and all of them used well.
Perarasu, the director of Sivakasi told rediff.com that Sivakasi is not a typical Vijay film, but the truth is that it is a typical Vijay film with all the ingredients in it, in the right proportions to satisfy all his fans. Like all his recent films Vijay plays a hero who growls and fights like a tiger, dances like a dream, is adept at tickling the funny bone, sheds tears for his mother and sister -- all in great style.
What more do his fans need? Is the story of Sivakasi any different from Perarasu's own Thirupachi or any other Vijay film? The answer is no.
The film which starts in Chennai moves to the village in the second half where Sivakasi (that's Vijay's name in the film) goes to save his mother (Geetha) and sister from his elder brother (Prakash Raj) who is evil incarnate. There are several songs with his lady love (Asin) and a number of fights with the baddies.
Like Perarasu said in his interview, in a nutshell, Sivakasi is about how a bad son treats (ill-treats) his mother when she is old, and how another son cares for her and saves her.
Vijay has excelled in all departments. Asin, who got a lot of applause in Ghajini, does not have much to do in Sivakasi. But Nayanthara, who drew a lot of flak for her item number in Ghajini, is the actress who is getting all the whistles and claps in Sivakasi for her latest. She just sizzles in the song! If Asin scored over her in Ghajini, it is Nayanthara who gets even with Sivakasi.
Yes, Sivakasi is made strictly for Vijay fans. The fact is, nobody associated with the film, the producer or the director or Vijay himself, proclaims this film to be 'different' or 'pathbreaking'. They have made the film to cater to a particular audience, those who have made Vijay's earlier films like Gilli, Madurai, Thirupachi, etc huge successes, and the same audience will make Sivakasi another blockbuster. The fantastic opening the film had all over Tamil Nadu is proof of that.

Sivakasi - Movie Review 8
Author: Sai Venkat, Owner-Moderator, actorvijay_fans@yahoogroups.com
Just finished watching Sivakaasi last night! Just can't forget those hours of pure entertainment that I had watching Sivakaasi. From first scene to last scene, it was totally enjoyable! Far less violence than Thirupaachi, Far more enjoyable like Thirumalai and Ghilli, this is one of Vijay's most entertaining movies!
Story:
We all know its nothing new! Vijay is known for giving the same storyline with a different feel! Its the story of a welder who falls in love with a rich girl and then goes back to his village to his family to settle the problems of his cunning elder brother!
Music:
Srikkanth Deva has done a great job! All songs are superb. The background score could have been a little more better but who cares? His songs are what makes the movie more and more enjoyable! He definitely deserves another chance to work with Vijay!
Other Cast:
All did their job well. Vaiyapuri, Geetha, Lakshana, Chiti Babu, MS Baskar, etc all did well... The little boy from Kadhal had too small a role to play and his antics from Kadhal was missing!
Direction:
Perarasu has a formula and he perfectly goes by it! Entertain the audiences with unadulterated heroism, good fast songs, romance, action, comedy, etc all form ingredients of his formula! And he has the best ally in Vijay who does it to the hilt! This combination surely spells super success and I wish they do one more movie together but somewhat deviating from their formula but not at the cost of entertainment!
Prakash Raj:
He does as much as what he did in Ghilli! I cant understand how this role is small for Prakash Raj. He had good importance and had something to act for! He is one of the best villians today and he has been utilised by Perarasu well. We should appreciate Vijay for persuading Prakash Raj to act this role out!
Nayanthara:
ROCKING! My liking for Nayanthara is going up! She looks so beautiful in the song and with Vijay, she looks even good. Her dance was so good that I watched the song again for her dance with Vijay! She has definitely proved Perarasu's words that she has danced superbly in the song!
Asin:
Hema or Homa??? She is one of the rare heroines these days who can hold her own in action movies. Even actresses like Jyothika and Trisha couldnt hold their own in movies like Thirumalai, Thirupachi, Arul, Saami, etc but Asin has done her job very well. She has taken care that her role doesnt go unnoticed! Her chemistry with Vijay, needless to say, is so cute. The best scene was when she comes to Vijay's shop and accuses him of saying I love you to her sister Homa.. And the way she challenges Vijay and then turns her head three times after saying "Idho Paar, en thangachikku mattum edhavadhu aachu....". She is superb.
Ilayathalapathy:
After all praising above, I am surely losing words! Anyways, this is going to be a small review on Vijay in Sivakaasi. Because I am tired of praising him from Kushi till Sachein. So my praise on him for Sivakaasi is going to be short! He has done to his best and has lived up to the role of Sivakaasi. Cant imagine any other hero in this role of his! His acting, his expressions, his fights, etc all are superb. Chinna Thalaivan namma Vijay kalakittaru indha Padathula!
Overall Review: 9.4/10

A smart work
[Wednesday, November 16, 2005]
Vijay is known for nifty and swift actions in his films. In real life too, he has proved to be equally smart.
Following the burning of his effigy by advocates protesting against his new film Sivakasi, actor Vijay quickly put things in perspective, and said that he always had a great regard for advocates and never hurt the sentiments of the legal fraternity.
Shooting at Vishakapattinam for his Adhi, Vijay said, 'I am shocked to know that advocates had burnt my effigy holding protests in Chennai.
‘Every movie would have some comical relief or a comedian providing some relief. The advocate character was also created with a sole intention by director Perarasu to provide some fun in the movie and not to hurt the sentiments of anyone'.
He also recalled that he played a youth who fights for educating people about the laws of the country in Tamizhan and in Sukran. ‘I act as an advocate, who helps a couple, who gets assaulted by some influential men in the society'.
Urging the advocates to end matter amicably rather than hold protests, Vijay reiterated that his character in Sivakasi was created with no ulterior motives.
That’s all, your honors.

My mother and wife cried" - Vijay laments
- 15.11.2005
"Those who burn effigies today will set fire to real people tomorrow," pens writer Charu Nivedita.
Effigies and photos of Vijay, Perarasu and others were set aflame at Chennai High Court yesterday. This act was committed by members of the court who are responsible for peace and justice. The violence and fury with which they acted is equal to any public offence.
The reason for their outrage is a scene in 'Sivakasi' where a lawyer is made fun of for comedy sake. Coming to know of this incident, Vijay who is at present shooting in Vishakapatnam, has sent an announcement.
"In cinema, there is always a good character for a hero, a bad character for a villain and a character used for comedy purpose from olden days to present times. The lawyer character in 'Sivakasi' is also one such character," says Vijay by way of explanation.
He pointed out instances in 'Thamizhan' and 'Sukran' where the pride of the law profession could be dented. Here are some points by Vijay that deserve mention.
* In 'Sivakasi' only the actor does what I say, not the director or producer. (Then why burn my image?)
* After rigorous screening by the tough Censor Board, 'Sivakasi' was released. (Should not the protestors then protest against the Censor Board?)
Vijay's third question is very valid. Lawyers cannot pass verdict on themselves.
"Our lawyer friends are getting worked up about scenes used purely for comedy. I respect their sentiments. My mother, wife, family and my fans who cherish me more than life itself, are upset to see my effigy being burnt like that, when I am alive and well in Vishakapatnam. Is there a medicine to heal their pain?"
Do the fiery law men have an answer to this?

ENDRENDRUM VIJAY...
Yesterday late night I watched Jaya TV's Endrendrum Vijay's special programme featured during release of Sachein. They showed it on Astro Vaanavil at 11.30-12.30pm. Many of u had watch it before, but for those staying outside India might not have seen it. So, I am writing
it out with some of the interesting conversations of Vijay. He is questioned by four girls. They asked many questions like...
Q: What do you think about Social Activites by stars?
<<>>Vijay: I'don't know about other, but i'm doing just for self-satisfaction. The successful person i'm today is because of the public. So, i think i have to do for them. Thats all, its not to
gain publicity or anything for popularity.
Q: Why do you continously doing commercial movies which known as
Vijay's Formula?
<<>>Vijay: There is thing called as Vijay's Formula. Actually I'm not the one who choose to do commercial movies. But my fans and the people's expectation is towards commercial movies only. So, i stick to commercial movies and my aim is to give what audience
wants. As long as audience loves to watch commercial movies i'll continue to do commercial movies. May be there will be some similarities between the films but audience enjoying commercial movies very much.
Q:Would you have come to acting, if your parents not in this cinema industry?
<<>>Vijay: I start to have interest in movies when i was 10 years. From that age i used to see lots of movies. And more over, my family cinema background has increase my interest in cinema. I still would have come to cinema, even if my parents not in cinema industry. But may be i would have gone to 10-15 cinema company and strugle few years before enter into this industry. With my parents support, my entrance to cinema is a bit easy. But when i was first tell my parents about my interest to enter cinema, i had do lots of arguments with my parents to convience them, because they don't want me to emter into in this industry as they know how hard it is to get a stable position. But i'm very much clear about my ambition to enter into cinema.
Q: Do you feel that your status as actor, disturb your normal life?
<<>>Vijay: I feel i missed few things like going to theatre with full crowd for Rajini sir movies, riding my bike on road, and thing that i used to do before enter cinema. But, i would not say it as
disturbance to my life. I enjoy my life as usual.
Q: Do you feel that you have missed few thing by entering into this industry?
<<>>Vijay: Yeah, certainly like my education, going arround freely. But i'm doing what ever i wish to do to enjoy my life as normal. Even if i'm not an actor, i'll still carryout my life as what i'm
doing today.
Q: Do ever wish to do more character roles?
<<>>Vijay: I wish to do, but previously i did Kannukul Nilavu. it didn't get good reponse, i'm very much happy when doing the movie but i'm very much upset with the result. So, i decided to not doing it and i feel that my fan not expecting that kind of movie from me.
Q: What do you expect from directors coming approach you? Do you tell them what thins that need to be in your movies?
<<>>Vijay: I don't interfece in story. But i used to ask for at least one "Khutu" song for my fans and two fights, thats all. I dont have any experience in story, i don't interfece in things that i
dont know. The direcors now days, knows what the trends in the market and what audience expect. I they are more knowledgable then me. I just leave it to them and concentrate on acting.
Q: Why did you do ghilli which is a remade? What do you think about dir.Dharani? Which is your fav song in Ghilli?
<<>>Vijay: I saw the original version of ghilli in telugu, i'm impressed with fast moving screenplay of the movie and decided to do it. Dir.Dharani has done a even greater job in Ghilli, he lots of changes to the screenplay. I really loved the movie. There are many mass songs in ghilli, but, my fav song is the Arjunar Villu situational song. Even now i use to play the song when i'm driving with Sanjay.
Q: What is your expectation when go to watch a movie as normal audience?
<<>>Vijay: It depends, like for Annamalai, i expect to watch Rajini sir sytle, punch dialouge. For, Autograph i dont expect to see fights all, but i'm very much enjoyed the movie. and i think of my
autograph in the end of the movie.
Q: How may autograph do you have?
<<>>Vijay: I also have, my first autograph when i was in 8th std, then when i was in 12th std, then few other when i'm in college. It's normal like other guys.
Q: Do you take care of all your costumes in movies, because now lots of youngters following your stlye of clothing?
<<>>Vijay: I like to wear a t-shirt and shirt on top of it and unbutton the shirt. I like to wear it very much. Now my wife is taking care of my costumes.
Q: Which is your fav song that you sing in your own voice?
<<>>Vijay: I like the song "Hey Pappa" from Badri, the picturisation also very cute. I also like the song "Coca Cola brown color" from Bagavathy.
Q: Do you have any memorable incident or naughty things you have done?
<<>>Vijay: I remember one thing, when i'm in college day, we go for a tour in train. We going with girls. And there is two guys coming from other compartment and teasing our college girls. So, i and my friends (10 of us), beat that guys. But, when arrive to station, the two guys come with 40 guys and beat us. Then i realise that i shouldn't have done it. Some my friends even get bandages when going back.
........
It's an hour programme, but most of things we already know. Hope u guys who missed the show, enjoy reading it.

"There can be only one Superstar" - Vijay
He says that his only aim is to earn a good place in the hearts of his fans. "There can be only one superstar and that can be none other than Rajinikanth," says Vijay in all humility.

Sivakasi - Movie Review 7
Courtesy: The Hindu
Genre: Action
Cast: Vijay, Prakashraj, Asin
Director: Paerarasu
Storyline: As a boy the hero runs away from home, but circumstances make his return essential. Bottomline: Another commercial venture so typically Vijay.
An apt title for the Deepavali season, Sri Surya Movies' `Sivakasi' (U) is firepower from first to last. Sivakasi, the hero, is a metaphor for light, fireworks and everything bright. Shekar V. Joseph's camera makes sure that you don't miss the symbolism at any point. Paerarasu takes on the onus of story, screenplay, dialogue, direction and lyrics and completely in tune with the taste of the masses does a fairly neat job of it. Only that the invariable protraction of the climax and the villain's predictable remorse tire you.
Sivakasi (Vijay) owns a welding shop and is a firebrand who fears none. His nonchalance irritates the villains. Hema, the rich daughter of a jeweller, falls in love with Sivakasi, but surprisingly the affair faces no parental interference, only approval. Just when things look hunky-dory, Sivakasi's childhood unfolds in flashback and the hero realises that he has more pressing things to attend to in Nattarasankottai, the village he ran away from 15 years ago.
Vijay scores
For Vijay's diehard fans `Sivakasi' is a typical treat. The hero knows very well that without much change in make-up and appearance he can have his faithfuls eating out of his hand. The larger-than-life image, excellent agility in dance and stunts, and histrionics help Vijay score with the ease of a veteran. The actor could work wonders if he teams with the likes of Shankar or Cheran.
As always, Asin looks gorgeous and makes best use of the opportunity offered. Prakashraj as the consummate villain is at home in his role of Udayappa, local MLA. Instead of sending a chill down people's spine, this bad man ends up making you feel sorry for him! Paerarasu's characterisation is so. But even here, Shakuntala as his evil, yet bird-brained mother-in-law is a major sore point. Even Udayappa deserves a better deal!Lakshana's homely looks enhances her portrayal of Sivakasi's sister. Some of Srikanth Deva's peppy refrains remind you of numbers of yore, and re-recording in `Sivakasi' is more of din. `En Deivathukkae ... ' has appealing tune and lyric.
With an immense dose of the Vijay brand of family sentiment and action, `Sivakasi' should cruise through with ease.

Vijay wins in the race with Vikram
- 11.11.2005
In the race of you or me, Ilaya Dalapathy has overtaken Chiyan.
To prevent the 'Sivakasi' crackers from going damp, the god of rain has given a brief respite. The falling collection, picked up after the rains stopped and Sivakasi slowly started breaking records.
Vikram or Vijay? We at last know who the winner of the Deepavali race is. In the first week of release, Vijay's 'Sivakasi' yielded a collection of 2 crores in Madurai alone. They say it is more than the rights for the Madurai area.
Theatres in the outskirts of Chennai made 5 ½ lakhs per day, whereas Chennai city theatres made 7 lakhs minimum.
From A to C centres, 'Sivakasi' has received good reception. Released at the same time, 'Majaa' has not received the expected attention. There was more expectation of Anniyan and Asin has not scored well either. Only Pasupathy stands out in the film.
Now that 'Sivakasi' has taken the coveted seat at the box office, 'Majaa' is struggling along in a corner. If this is what has befallen even Vikram, one need not wonder at the plight of Dhanush and Srikanth. They were seen nowhere near the box office.
One can say that Sivakasi hit the fabulous sixer that Sachein missed!
Vijay thrashes talk of superstar status
November 11, 2005
Vijay is the top star today in terms of collection and mass appeal. He works hard to maintain the status and his films are assured of good business. He has his finger on the pulse of the audience and gives them what they want. Amidst recent reports that he had become quite arrogant or distant because of his star status, he refuted in a recent interview that he was essentially a simple and introverted person. He was not flamboyant.
But, he was dedicated and disciplined in his profession. His ambition was to reach the number one position in the minds of the audience. Before we jumped to the conclusion that he was trying for the superstar status as another popular hero had declared some time ago, he hurried to clarify. He said that there could be only one superstar and that would be Rajini alone. At best, other aspirants could bask in some reflected glory.

Sivakasi - Movie Review 6
Courtesy: Cinesouth.com
One man alone stands up to confront the thug Pallakku Pandian's gang that is running amok in a T Nagar shopping area. That is Vijay.
This dialogue takes place between them…
Pallakku Pandi: Hey, what is your name?
Vijay: Sivakasi!
Pallakku Pandi: I am asking your name and you are saying the name of a place?
Vijay: That is the place they manufacture crackers. This (indicating himself) is the place it will blow up.
At this the gang attacks him from all sides, Vijay runs true to his name by displaying his limbs in fighting them. What happens then? The fans celebrate the cracking action of Sivakasi. Naturally we would like to know the background of such a strong person like Vijay in the story.Running away from his village to Chennai when he was 10, Vijay is managing his welding workshop. Chitti Babu and M S Bhaskar are his sidekicks.
In the process, the man who melts iron falls in love with the well to do Asin. In a confrontation, Asin asks, "Do you know what family life is? Do you know what affection is?" The next minute Asin gets a slap on her face from Vijay. This is followed with a flash back of Vijay's life and his announcement that he will go to his native place, and come back with his family to her house to ask for her hand.
There he meets his elder brother Prakash Raj and ends his cruel behaviour towards his mother and sister and how he then comes to ask for Asin's hands forms the rest of the narrative.
Action followed by character depiction, coupled with comedy, added with sentiments over mother and sister, and a few mannerisms, Vijay is following in the footsteps of Rajini's style. If falling in love with Asin and the associated comedy is hot in the first half, plotting to unseat his brother Prakash Raj and emoting with the status of his sister Lakshana and mother Geeta, are sweet in the second half.Asin scores double century in the scene where she cheats Vijay by claiming that she is a twin.
In the song 'Ada ennatha sollvenungo…," Asin appears in a Brahmin getup and her acting makes the fans ask for more.Even with money, position and gang power, when Prakash Raj / Udayappan becomes tame before his aunt Sakunthala ('Dhool' Swarnakka), the feeling is one of disappointment.
When Prakash Raj and Vijay bargain with one Rupee and two Rupees, Ganja Karuppu says, "Why don't you round off the amount to 10?" and offers 10 lakhs. "But I thought you meant 10,000," says a flabbergasted Prakash Raj and puts his hand over his mouth. It went down well with the audience.
Besides, M S Bhaskar appearing as a lawyer getting into all kinds of cases, adds to the comic movements. If Srikanth Deva's music for songs "Kodambakkam area…," Ada ennatha sollvenungo..' and 'Vaada vaada thozha…' are like snacks, 'Idhu enna idhu enna...' and 'Deepavali deepavali…' are like the sweet gulab jamun. It is tiring to listen to 'Aaraaro aariraaro' chorus repeated in sentiment scenes.
Cameraman Shekar V Joseph should be lauded for keeping good pace with director Perarasu's screenplay.Stunt master Rocky Rajesh must be commended for his hard work in the composition of the fight sequences.
Director Perarasu has dried the gift pack of crackers from 'Thirupachi' and offered it in 'Sivakasi'.

Sivakasi - Movie Review 5
Producer: A.M.Ratnam
Director: Perarasu
Cast: Vijay, Asin, Prakash Raj, Murali, Geeta
Music: Srikanth Deva
Director Perarasu and Vijay have yet again used their old formula in 'Sivakasi' too. They are fond of films with larger-than-life character, forceful dialogues, stunning action, comedy, glamour and good-hearted hero with loads of mother and sister sentiments. The duo repeats this formula in 'Sivakasi' again. But class audience who are seeking quality entertainment would not enjoy this film. However, they have used lots of mass masalas to cater to the mass audience.
Sivakasi (Vijay) lives in exile at Renganathan Street, T.Nagar in Chennai for 15 years. He later goes back to the village to rescue his mother (Geeta) and sister from the clutches of his evil brother (Prakash Raj). He has a rich and modern girl trying to tempt him.
Perarasu has indeed done the reverse of 'Tirupachi' in 'Sivakasi'. The story in 'Tirupachi' starts with rural background in the first half and ends up in the city in the second half. But in 'Sivakasi', the story has an urban set up in the first half and then later turns to village.
The film works only because of Vijay's superstar image. He carries his character very well with a good sense of humor. Vijay and Asin's comic encounters are the asset of the film. They have an excellent on-screen chemistry. Prakash Raj's role as Vijay's brother is fine but Geeta's role is dull. Comedians M.S Baskar, Chitti Babu and others make the audience have fun. Nayantara looks glamorous and attractive in the item number.
Sunny V.Joseph's camera work is good. GK's artwork in the film is commendable and Srikanth Deva's songs also go well with the mood of the film. On the whole, the film is a good masala film. It has delivered the goods for the mass audience.

Interview: Ratnam reigns Kollywood
A.M Ratnam needs no introduction. He is the ultimate top producer in South Indian films. Most of his films are blockbusters. And he knows the interest and psychology of the masses. The audience seldom betrays him, as he delivers what they want. Yet again, his latest release 'Sivakasi' with Vijay in the lead is a super hit. He is no doubt a winning producer. Here is an excerpt from the interview with the veteran filmmaker.
Excerpts from the Interview:
The film is a huge success. It had a wonderful opening all over the world. The collections on Diwali, the opening day was 100 percent in all the theatres and it remained the same even on the following day, which was a working day. That's fantastic.
Do you think it will do better than 'Tirupachi' and 'Ghilli'?
It is too early to say about the fate of the film but it is surely going to become a blockbuster. I think it will be as big as 'Ghilli', as the rush for tickets is awesome even for the afternoon shows.
How comes you produce so many mass masala films that interests the audience?
Things are changing at a very fast pace these days. And it is not easy to make mass masala entertainers today. The ingredients have to be right and good if a film is to work. 'Sivakasi' worked because of right mix by director Perarasu and Vijay's huge image.
How do you rate Vijay's performance in the film?
He is superb and has the ability to carry the show all by himself. He is a well-known face and commands the biggest opening in Kollywood. You won't believe that 'Sivakasi' opened better than that of Mammootty or Mohanlal's film in Kerala this Diwali.
My next film 'Bheema' in Tamil with Vikram in the lead has already started. Lingusamy is directing this mass film scheduled for next year's summer release. My other Telugu film 'Bangaram' is on the verge of completion. Dharani is the director of the film.

Sivakasi` super, `Majaa` miserable!
By Moviebuzz | |
Monday, 07 November , 2005, 10:49 | |
The Diwali box-office results are out- only Sivakasi is a super hit and the rest have all been washed away by rains and lackluster content. Vijay’s Sivakasi, in spite of heavy rains crackled the most at the Tamilnadu box-office. It took a 100 percent opening in the first three days all over. At Kolathur Ganga theatre, a suburb of Chennai the film grossed an amazing Rs 7.26 Lakhs on Diwali day! Meanwhile, the other biggie Majaa is turning out to be damp squib at the box-office. The trade feels that the film lacks nativity and the audience felt letdown with Vikram’s character with hardly any heroism like a Remo or Anniyan in Anniyan. The collections of Majaa has been sliding from day one. Another Diwali release Athu Oru Kana Kalam is a total wash out and we will not like to reveal the miserable collection figures! Perusu with newcomers is also a flop. |

5 best openers in Kollywood!
By Moviebuzz
Saturday, 05 November , 2005, 12:42
In one-day cricket, an opening batman who can hit all round the stadium in the first 15 overs of the game is very crucial for the team’s victory! The best openers in the world are Adam Gilchrist, Sanath Jayasurya, and our own Sachin Tendulkar. They can not only dictate terms but also change the course of the match.
Similarly in Tamil cinema, there are superstars who command a great opening. Their films open big with larger number of prints and during opening weekend (Fri to Sun) they ensure a large turn out irrespective of the quality or content of the film.
In fact, a superstar’s ratings are purely based on how much revenue the actor can generate and how fast he does it. In cricket, the team that scores maximum in the first 15 overs stands a better chance to win while in Tamil cinema, the hero who collects the best in the first 3 days is the real superstar!
Tamil cinema’s top 5 openers-
No1:- Rajnikanth
The best opener that Kollywood has ever seen! Even a bad film of his, takes a one-week opening instead of the regular three days! If the film carries good reports, then he gets repeat audience from day-one itself, something unheard of in Indian cinema. This superstar has pulling power in neigbouring states like Andhra, Kerala and Karnataka including overseas. The production cost (minus his salary) of his films is recovered in the opening weekend itself.
No: 2- Vijay
The 31-year old actor is the fastest rising star in Tamil cinema who is fast catching up with the real superstar. But unlike Rajnikanth, Vijay does not have a market in Andhra but in Kerala, Karnataka and overseas he is very popular especially among Sri Lankan Tamils. His weekend opening is the best among young heroes and afterwards the film will run purely on the strength of its content.
No: 3-Vikram
He has a never-say-die spirit and climbed up the ladder on his own hard work over years. A late bloomer, Vikram has opened up the Telugu market and created a new road map for Tamil films all over South. He appeals more to city audience and has a fantastic opening in cities. He also sells best when he combines with good directors like Shankar, Dharani and Bala.
No: 4- Kamal Hassan
The rise of Vikram has eaten into Kamal Hassan’s market of character-driven roles that click with the upper-class city audience. Still Kamal is way ahead in comedy genre which unfortunately does not go down with the masses as they are not crass and loud. Kamal films also take a good opening only in cities and his citadels are Kerala, Andhra, and overseas, which is now being threatened by the young brigade.
No:5- Surya
The year 2005 saw the rise of Surya as an action hero. He emerged as a winner with Mayaavi taking a good opening though the film flopped. Now his Ghajini took a fabulous opening similar to a superstar film. He is also fast emerging as the teen icon among youth of Kerala and overseas, which augers well for him.
This rating is purely based on the box-office success of the respective actors in the last 15 months. Please note that there are a host of other actors who too command good opening.

Vijay, Asin and director Perarasu come together in Sivakaasi. As the name suggests, this is a fiery, action-packed entertainer, since Sivakaasi is the famous cracker capital of India. But in this movie, spelt with 3 a's, it is the screen name of the hero, who comes from his home-town (Sivakaasi, of course) to Chennai to earn his livelihood.Perarasu has moulded Vijay to his tastes, while also retaining the USPs of Vijay, his has got a director who has really understood him and the needs of the fans. Vijay's films are generally never disappointing.
Vijay has delivered all that his fans expect – fights with real rage, street dances with real rhythm, good dialogues, a few jokes, a pinch of sentiment and real Chennai slang, smart dialogues, play on words, etc.The story is about Sivakaasi (Vijay) who is a welder by profession and comes to Cehnnai to earn his livelihood. He has to get along with Prakash Raj, his villainous brother, and in their fights and arguments, sparks fly between the two, generating heat and light onscreen.
Prakash Raj plays the role of a person so evil and threatening that he uses their own mother (played by the actress of yesteryears Geetha) as a pawn at times. Possibly both of them have given their best performances till date in Sivakaasi. The hero lives at Ranganathan Street and art director G.K. has brought the street into live using his skills and techniques. He comes to Sivakaasi to demolish the evil acts of his brother. In the meantime he also steals time to roam about with a rich girl(Asin), who eventually falls in love with him.
Vijay's performance as usual is really good. His abilities to dance well, crack jokes, expressive eyes, area all his talents put to fullest use. Asin has given him good company, and their on-screen chemistry is sparkling. Her retorts, arguments, and verbal exchanges with Vijay will surely make one laugh. Prakash Raj has done his role as usual. His acting and performance resemble that of Gilli. S.M. Bhaskar and Chitti Babu have taken the responsibility for the comedy and it is well done too.
The beat songs by Srikanth Deva will bring the roofs down and are already popular. The Iyer song where Asin dresses as an Iyer lady is melodious and very well picturised. Perarasu has done his job of penning the dialogues well too. He has exactly delivered what has to be delivered. The makers are confident the movie will be an explosive success at the box-office. This is one sparkling family entertainer released this Deepavali.
Comment : Definitely worth watching
Sivakasi - Movie Review 3
An All Round Entertainer
By P. Sreekumaran
Film critic, ApunKaChoice.Com
The Vijay-Perarasu combination has worked wonders again. The duo had courted success in their first venture together, Tirupachi, which was a bumper hit. It also firmed up Vijay’s status as the virtual No 2 in Kollywood, next only to the redoubtable Rajnikant. Likewise, Sivakasi has got off to a fantastic opening as well. It has the stamp of success written all over it.
The success formula? Simple. Make it a masala movie with all the ingredients in the right measure. So Sivakasi has everything the ordinary Tamil filmgoer wants to see. Action scenes, stunts, comedy, peppy songs, delightful dance sequences topped by a sexy item number – you name it, and Sivakasi has it. No wonder, Vijay’s smile has become broader these days!
That said, it must be admitted that the film does strains credulity to a certain extent. But, then, who bothers about logic and things like that? Not the Vijay fans, who are happy lapping up the salacious stuff their hero has dished out on Diwali day.
A big slice of the credit must go to director Perarasu for keeping audience interest intact till the very end, despite the absence of logic. He has made it a pacy and entertaining affair with slick direction. An added bonus is excellent editing, which makes it a pleasure to watch. Perarasu had successfully employed the formula in Tirupachi. He has repeated it in Sivakasi with equal success. Only the locale is different.
In Tirupachi the story unfolds in the bucolic ambience of a village. Sivakasi sees the action taking place in an urban setting. Hero Sivakasi (Vijay) is man with a golden heart. A do-gooder, who dotes on his mother and sister. The theme revolves round the sacrifices he is called upon to make the mother and sister happy. Circumstances force him to leave the village and come to Chennai. But he has to go back to the village because his sister and mother (Geeta) are in trouble, thanks to the machinations and doings of his elder brother (Prakash Raj), who is an embodiment of evil.
Like in Tirupachi, in Sivakasi too Vijay has a rich girl vying for his love and attention. Performance-wise, Vijay leads the fun brigade. That he is no great shakes as an actor is known. But the ‘Ilaya Dalapathi’ manages to infuse fun and verve into his character. His girlfriend, Asin, is a perfect foil. The on-screen chemistry is wonderful and the comic interludes lively. Prakash Raj again excels as Vijay’s wicked brother. Villainy has become his forte these days. And it is another polished performance from Prakash. The only difference is the villainy is softened by a dash of buffoonery, which goes down well with the audience.
Geeta is adequate as Vijay’s mother, though she has not had her role properly fleshed out. The team of comedians including M.S Baskar and Chitti Babu tickle your funny bone. Another highlight of the film is an item number by Nayantara. Nayan oozes oomph, pandering to the taste of the frontbenchers. A performance even the current queen of glamour Namitha can be proud of!
Sivakasi also marks the coming of age of cameraman Sunny V.Joseph, who attracted attention with his excellent work in Rajni’s Chandramukhi.Composer Srikanth Deva has come out with a few numbers that go well with the mood of levity that animates the film.
All in all, Sivakasi is a cracker of a movie! Suspend your critical faculties, you will enjoy it!

Vijay, on the pinnacle of success
Galatta.com
Vijay has proved himself again in his Sivakaasi. He has done a beautiful job and has satisfied the expectations of everyone. He is now busy with Aadhi and Puli. He is determined to make both these also grand successes.
When asked if he would ever step into politics, he said that he has the least idea of stepping into politics. He stated very clearly that his field of interest is acting alone.
Good luck, Vijay!
Sivakasi - A complete report
I have written too much but pls bear with me....I cannot just control myself....
The movie - In a single word "EXCELLENT"
It was awesome....
Vijay..I have no words to explain him in the film..Dance, comedy, Romance, stunts, sentiment, punch dialogues and what not??? He has become a super star already!!!! His intro to the end of the film..It cud not just stop admiring his actions...Gr8 gr8 job!!!
Asin- Very good...No heroine in a commercial movie will get a role better than this...And she had lots of chances to perform
Prakashraj - Once more Ghilli...Too gud!!
And all others have performed their roles to the mark...Geetha and the sister actress(I think Lakshana) need special mention here
Songs- All saravedis to keep up the mood of the film..However bgm cud have been done better
Logic - Far better than most films that come in the name of mass entertainers
All in all, pucca entertainer which will fulfill expectations of all sorts of audience...All audience enjoyed the film and clapped for many scenes...Kids enjoyed a lot!!!
Perarasu has chosen a tighter plot and done better screen play than Thiruppachi...Fights were limited and as already mentioned it is good that no one died finally...
It was 10 times better than Thiruppachi though not upto Gilli's mark...However if Thiruppachi was a super hit, just imagine wat wud this film be :))
Next regarding the audience...
As I watched in PVR Cinemas(Matinee), there were not much die hard fans, so had a peaceful watch..
But wait....I didn't mean that they were not enjoying the movie...
It was a housefull show(even the evening show, noon show were house full) and everyone enjoyed the film right from the beginning to end...It was evident from the happy faces that emerged out after the show...
My neighbours were Kannadigas who were amused initially by the scenes..But slowly they got into the mood of the film and really enjoyed it...
Next, about you friends feeling or rather worrying that Vijay will be termed as a low class entertainer....Today's show was full and full of Family audience except for a few...Right from small kids to older ones....Apart from that college guys and gals, not only Tamil ppl but also Kannadigas and Mallus were at the show...(My neighbours were Kannada ppl) And these were not at all low class audience....
I personally feel that ppl who are jealous of Vijay are trying to modify his image as an ordinary mass entertainer..But he has the charm and magic of a superstar...Ppl consider him as one in their family and love him in reality.
Just bcoz ppl dance and almost worship him in B and C centers, it doesn't mean they are low class audience!!! Watever galattas fans do is becoz of the fact that he hits their right pulse....If I am not watching it with so much crowd, I wud surely dance for songs and keep whistling :-))
Final point: The film will run for a least minimum of 200 days and I wish it should...But pls pls Vijay should work with Perarasu atleast after two years so that audience don't get bored...:-))

A grand opening!!!
[Thursday, November 03, 2005]
'The Badshah of Box office' in Kollywood Vijay has done it once again.
His Deepavali release Sivakasi has witnessed unprecedented opening in all the centers where the movie has been released---- this includes even foreign countries.
The movie directed by Perarusu and produced by A M Rathnam, has witnessed huge queues in all theatres and tickets are going away in a jiffy at various theatres in the State.
Close on the heels of Sivakasi is Vikram's Majaa. The movie has seen 100 per cent collection in Chennai.
A remake of Thommanum Makkalaum, Majaa carries a mixed response from the audience. Next on the list is Srikanth's Bambhara Kannalae followed by Dhanush's Athu Oru Kanaa Kaalam. A contrived storyline and dragging second half are the minuses of the movie.
So it is still a Vijay vs Vikram race. Which V will eventually triumph?
Sivakasi' gets Diwali blessings
By MIO Team Nov 03, 2005, 09:06 |
Hero Vijay's fans seem to love the film. A theatre at Chengalpet witnessed houseful in all shows on Diwali day. It run to a packed hall from 6.30 A.M till midnight. And there was festive mood around the theaters with thousands of youngsters clambering for tickets.
The story is no different in Kerala too. It had a great opening like that of Mohanlal's film. The theatres like Ernakulam, Sarita and Savita reported 100 percent collections in all the four shows.
Meanwhile, Vikram's film 'Maja' received mixed response, though it had a good opening. Whereas, Dhanush's film 'Athu Oru Kana Kalam' failed to show any sign of life at the box office.
Well, 'Sivakasi' is the clear winner this Diwali. And Vijay is the winning hero.
Vijay to act in a Prakash Raj movie?
November 3, 2005
The duo of Vijay and Prakash Raj worked out well in the movie Ghilli and the movie was a blockbuster hit. Again, they have joined hands together for the movie Sivakasi. Though, the role of Prakash Raj in the movie was not up to that of Ghilli, he accepted because of Vijay’s request. So, they both have a good understanding between them.
While shooting was going on for Sivakasi, Vijay asked Prakash why he is always producing with new heroes and not producing with him. Prakash replied affirmatively saying that it is very difficult to get Vijay’s dates. He also added that he is ready to produce a movie with Vijay as hero and Prabhu Deva directs the movie. So, if this trio joins together it will be a real feast to the audience.

Sivakasi - Movie Review 2

Sivakasi
Movie Sivakasi
Director Perarasu
Producer A.M.Ratnam
Music Srikanth Deva
Cast Vijay, Asin, Prakash Raj
Vijay and director Perarasu likes to work in the easy comfort of the FORMULA- one that is all about a larger-than-life character, punchline dialogues with lot of colloquial usages, plenty of action where people fly around, outrageous songs with inane lyrics about water packets and thair sadam, red, yellow and pink bell bottom pants with high-heel shoes, an all sacrificing good hearted hero with oodles of mother and sister sentiments laced with a comic touch.
This FORMULA had worked well for director Perarasu and Vijay in Tirupachi and now the team has re-worked it. This formula however will test your patience as it is not meant for the class audience or for those seeking quality entertainment. Perarasu and Vijay believe only in catering to the mass audience who want their dose of unpretentious masala mix. The cardinal rule that one should follow while watching such `mass masala mix'(3M) is to suspend disbelief and never ask questions pertaining to logic.
The success of 3M films depend purely on how a director is able to keep his audience spellbound without a script and give him a time-pass entertainment. Perarasu has done an ulta (opposite) of Tirupachi in Sivakasi. In Tirupachi, the story that starts from a village moves to a city in the latter half but in Sivakasi the films opens in Renganathan Street, T.Nagar in Chennai where our hero Sivakasi (Vijay) is living in exile for the last 15 years. In the second half, he goes back to the village to save his sister and mother (Geeta) from his evil elder brother (Prakash Raj)! In both the films, the hero had a rich and modern girl trying to entice him and saying "I love you"!
Sivakasi works due to Vijay-THE SUPERSTAR. He takes the cake, cream and cherry and plays to the gallery with abandon and underlines his over-the-top character with an infectious sense of fun. The Vijay-Asin comic encounters add to the fun and they have a great on-screen chemistry. Prakash Raj as Vijay's scheming brother reworks his `I love you Chellam" act as a buffoon villain with panache. Geeta has an insipid role and the new breed of comedians like M.S Baskar, Chitti Babu and others raise a few laughs.
And the big surprise element is Nayantara who looks glamourous and attractive in an item number. Sunny V.Joseph's the cameraman of Chandramukhi has established himself with this film. GK's artwork is lifelike and Srikanth Deva's dapankoothu songs is just correct for the mood of the film. Sivakasi designed as a B-grade 3M extravaganza, is a cracker of a movie and delivers the goods.
Verdict: Satisfaction Guaranteed
King of opening!

Among the Diwali releases early indications are that Vijay's Sivakasi is the clear winner. The film has taken an extraordinary opening all over Tamilnadu and Kerala (237 prints). The trade is asking- "Will it be a Ghilli or Tirupachi?
It is early days, but Vijay fans who saw the film are appreciating it. In a theatre at Chengalpet near Chennai, shows started at 6.30 am on Diwali day and the last show was held around midnight with all shows Housefull. Serpentine queues were seen in front of theatres screening the film and the premises had a festival mood with thousands of youngsters trying to get a ticket!
And in Kerala, Sivakasi has taken a bumper opening, as big as a Mohanlal film In Ernakulam, Sarita and Savita (combined seating capacity 1787) all four shows have reported 100 percent collections.
Meanwhile Vikram's Majaa also has taken a good opening but the film carries mixed reports. Dhanush's Athu Oru Kana Kalam is lukewarm at box-office.
Vijay Deepavali
I spent my whole day staying glued to TV watching Vijay's specials...Unfortunately missed the Pudhu paadal...Hope to see them in coming days...and yes, shud watch Sivakasi asap....
I started off with "Singamle" in Vijay TV, followed by "Iyakkunargal Paarvayil Ilayathalapathy Vijay" in Raj TV, then Vijay spl in SS Music and "Ungalodu Naan" in SUN TV...I was too tired to watch Friends so slept off nicely :)) Newayz, I had watch it 3 or 4 times earlier...
It appeared like he has dedicated the whole of this Diwali for his fans...Already we have a bumper prize in the name of Sivakasi...In addition, these interviews and wat not? He danced for his fans, sang for them and he lived his day for them(or us :)) )
The most touching moment was when a girl in CSI deaf n dumb ashram in Sivakasi asked Vijay(actually a staff asked on behalf of the girl) "I am like your sister...But do u feel sad that u don't have a sister?" He smiled for a moment and said pointing to the girl "Idho thangachi irukkulla..."(Here is my sister)
I felt really happy and proud for Vijay...It was just like my brother getting all this fame...I wish him all success in future too and am sure that we will have a blockbuster with Sivakasi 4 this diwali....
Sivakasi - Movie Review 1
Director – Perarasu
Starring – Vijay, Asin
Producer – A M Ratnam
This Diwali, Sivakasi is said to be in the lead as per the analysis. It is said that 147 theatres in Tamil Nadu and 80 theatres in Kerela has been booked for the movie Sivakasi. Asin Vijay combination is no doubt the pulse of the youth and is proved with the release today. The applaud in the theatres are remarkable and for certain actions and style of Vijay There was a constant word repeat and once more.
Vijay's style in the movie had made the audience exhilarating and this will lead to an unbendable competition with other release of today. The second film by Perarasu with Vijay has given an astounding effect as it is the mother's sentiment that fascinated the audience and Geetha's role as Vijay's mother had brought out the beauty of mother's eagerness, enthusiasm, and the passion of a mother for the son, that had captured the lady's mind and it could be felt as they left the theatre.
Vijay lives in a village in Sivakasi .He comes to Chennai and seeks a job and he works in a welding shop. The routine life is portrayed for a while. He comes across Asin (hema) and he falls in love with her. Asin's father runs a jewelry shop and hearing this he becomes infuriated and the problems that had occurred should be eye witnessed and observed through the movie. First half of the story is very interesting with humorous dialogue, fun, jokes between Asin and Vijay, and it extends to Vijay apologizing with her.
The film is a challenge for Asin and she has superbly performed to the focus of the audience. Prakash Raj is the villain and a brother to Vijay The dialogue between Vijay and Prakash Raj and the stunt actions are the high point of the movie .The second half of the story is how the mother gets protection from the son .The stunt sequences ends up into a climax where Vijay and Asin joins hand and brings happiness and joy to both of them.
The movie is worth seeing as it includes sentiment and entertainment. It is a action paired entertainer and worth considering. Director Perarasu has moulded Vijay in such a way the smack will give him a remarkable victory and the producer has shaped the movie unquestionably well, it is definitely going to be the strike of the day.The song Deepavali Deepavali is a mixture of western and folk in a right manner and the rhythm of the guitar adds beauty to the song which will be ever remembered by the audience. The dance by Asin and Vijay for this song with yellow dress adds serenity and charm to the movie.
All the songs penned by Perarasu and set to music by Srikanth Deva has a different significance to the movie .The song Kodambakkam area a dapankuthu song and Nayanthara's dance has captured the young youth whose whistling for once again was vibrating the theatre But the lyrics and orchestration for the song Ada Enatha..and Enn Thevaithukey did not motivate the audience at all.
The camera by Sekhar V.joseph and art direction by G.K. has worked out marvelously for certain centres. But still more focus could have been give to the satisfaction of some of the audience Not much of Technical facet as the film does not demand much .But on the whole the movie is a family oriented one and is worth seeing. The whole credit goes to Perarasu and A.M Rathnam for bringing out a movie of specialty and will be a big gust. Let us wait and see for the DEEPAVALI FEAST OF THIS MOVIE.
