Vijay thrashes talk of superstar status

Vijay is the top star today in terms of collection and mass appeal. He works hard to maintain the status and his films are assured of good business. He has his finger on the pulse of the audience and gives them what they want. Amidst recent reports that he had become quite arrogant or distant because of his star status, he refuted in a recent interview that he was essentially a simple and introverted person. He was not flamboyant.

But, he was dedicated and disciplined in his profession. His ambition was to reach the number one position in the minds of the audience. Before we jumped to the conclusion that he was trying for the superstar status as another popular hero had declared some time ago, he hurried to clarify. He said that there could be only one superstar and that would be Rajini alone. At best, other aspirants could bask in some reflected glory.
