Vijay's stand on acting with Ajith

Vijay is on a tour to the southern states to promote and celebrate his Pokkiri victory. Pokkiri's 64th day - strange number to celebrate as you may think - celebrations are underway in Thoothukkudi, Kanyakumari, and Tirunelveli. Theatre owners of the districts were felicitated by Vijay on the occasion. The event, held in Geetha Hotel in Thoothukkudi yesterday 16/03/07, was chaired by Pokkiri's producer Rameshbabu.

Later, Vijay answered questions of the press ranging from his latest project to his interests in other language movies. Answering questions about Azhagiya Tamil Magan Vijay stated that the movie is poles apart from Pokkiri. "It is a thriller," he let out a clue. Why does he rely on remake movies? Does he think these are safe bets? "No", Vijay was ready to retort. "That is just a myth. Most of my movies released last year were direct projects," he substantiated his reply.

Then came the million-dollar question that ever existed since the discovery of stardom. Is he ready to act with Ajith? "If there is good scope for me to perform, I have no qualms in sharing screen space with Ajith", came the diplomatic answer.

Vijay does not talk much. If he does, he creates a sensation.As previously conducted at Madurai, the celebration of 'Pokkiri's' successful run was celebrated at Tuticorin, and Vijay was the chief guest.

As usual, questions were asked about his getups and Vijay continued to maintain that he was not interested in changing his get-ups. Would he act in other regional languages? "Definitely not!"During Vijay's film release as well as at the film function, many DMK supporters have been seen along with Vijay fans. MK Stalin's son Udayanidhi is Vijay's friend and Vijay is to act in a film produced by him.

Does this mean Vijay would enter politics sometime in the future? This made Vijay shrink back in horror! "I have fans in all parties. Politics will not work for me," said Vijay.

Would he consider acting in a film with Ajith? Without hesitation Vijay replied that if such a suitable story was presented to him, he definitely would. One could almost infer that such an opportunity would hardly materialize!

At the function, Vijay handed mementos to theatre owners in Tuticorin and Kumari districts.

A good news for Vijay fans. This year end, Ilaya Dalapathy is to do a dual role in a film.

The first of the Pokkiri, success meet was held at Tuticorin and our Ilayathalapathy Vijay personally graced the occasion. The meet was organized by the TK distributor and theatre owners in a big way at Geeta hotel, as the film recently completed 50 days.

Later at the press meet Vijay said: "My biggest competitor is my previous hit. The trouble is that my next film has to be a bigger box-office hit than my last release". When asked why he is doing remake films, Vijay shot back:" In 2005 I did three straight films back to back- Tirupachi, Sachin and Sivakasi. I always go for the subject and at times have to do remakes."

Vijay was all excited about his new film Azhagiya Tamil Magan , directed by Bharatan. Says Vijay: " I’ m doing something totally different in this film. It is a racy thriller, with all commercial ingredients. I want to do all kinds of films in different genres"
