"Vijay's fight will be an experience"
May 28, 2007
Are you a Vijay fan?
Have you always wanted your idol to set the screen on fire with a double act?
No worries, our Illayathalapathy seems to have heard your grievance.
The recent film shooting of Azhagiya Tamizh Magan, in a cement factory at Ennore, indicates that Vijay will throw a double bonanza treat to all his fans. The scene that is being shot is a fight sequence. Here Vijay fights with his own self – don't get confused – this is so because the actor is donning a dual role in this movie.
Talking to Behindwoods correspondent, the stunt master - FEFSI Vijayan, said: "This fight would boost Vijay's action-hero image all the more. Will be real excitement for his fans". Vijayan is taking in every minute bit of detail into consideration to make this fight a mind-boggling and intense one.
Cameraman Balasubramaniam, is also said to be working overtime, adopting few latest techniques, to make this fight an unique experience for the viewers.

Lawrence to direct Vijay in new film
Vijay is a dab hand at zeroing in on commercial masala films that will surely be a hit.
Starting off as a dancer, Lawrence has progressed to choreographer, actor and director. Now, all that he touches, seem to turn to gold.
His Telugu film 'Style' and Tamil film 'Muni' were super hits as predicted. If such a lucky director collaborates with Vijay, it would be nice and that's exactly what is going to happen.
Lawrence is right now directing 'Don' remake in Telugu featuring Nagarjuna. He also appears in an important role in the film. Hearing positive reports about the story, Vijay has got in touch with Lawrence and the outcome is that, the Tamil remake of 'Don' is to happen.
Once Lawrence completes the Telugu version of 'Don,' and Vijay completes 'Azhagiya Thamizh Magan,' work on the 'Don' Tamil remake should start.Monday, May 21, 2007

Vijay with Gautham?
IndiaGlitz [Monday, May 21, 2007]
After completing his Azhagiya Tamil Magan, Vijay would team up with Dharani.
The two had earlier teamed up for a blockbuster Gilli, a remake of a Telugu hit. But this time, it would be direct Tamil film and Dharani has completed penning the story and screenplay. Trisha is touted to play the heroine. Upon completing Azhagiya Tamil Magan, Vijay would commence shooting for the movie.
Also by the year-end, Vijay has accepted to work with director Gowtham Menon. If Dharani's venture is a racy entertainer, Vijay's film for Gowtham Vasudeva Menon is expected to be a thriller, quite expected of Gowtham Menon. The movie would be produced by London
Karunas.
Vijay has also accepted to work for AVM Balasubramaniam' s film by next year.

Vijay on 'Dasavataram' sets!
- 16.05.2007
One of the most awaited films is 'Dasavataram. ' At least a few secrets and photos of 'Sivaji' have found their way into the press, but none of 'Dasavataram. ' There's competition to find out what exactly the story is, even among film people.
A few weeks back, Rajini went to AVM to check out the patchwork being done on 'Sivaji' and learnt that 'Dasavataram' shooting was taking place nearby. He spoke to Kamal about the 10 characters he is playing in the film. Rajini saw the photos of Kamal in his various getups, was quite astounded and praised Kamal.
Like Rajini, Hari Kumar, the hero of 'Thoothukudi' went to see Kamal on the sets. Hari was pleasantly surprised at the warm welcome he received from Kamal.
Vijay is shooting for 'Azhagiya Thamizh Magan' at AVM and he also dropped in on Kamal and spoke to him about his roles in 'Dasavataram. '
Since even film personalities are eagerly looking forward to 'Dasavataram, ' the expectation seems to be rising!

Vijay meets Kamal
May 14, 2007
Super star Rajinikanth had earlier called on Kamal Haasan when the shooting of Sivaji and Dasavatharam were progressing in the AVM Studios. The two had discussed about their respective projects. Now it is Vijay's turn to meet the mega star Kamal.
Vijay went to the sets where Dasavatharam was being filmed and met Kamal at the makeup room.
The scene that was being shot at that time was a fight sequence which involved Kamal, Mallika Sherawat and a few stuntmen.
It seems Vijay was curious about the various make up techniques employed for the project. Kamal, the one who is always interested in enlightening the interested, was more than happy to share his knowledge. Other details about the meet have not been revealed.

Vijay heaps laurels on Shriya
IndiaGlitz [Saturday, May 12, 2007] |
Vijay who is sharing the screen with Shriya for Azhagiya Tamil Magan is heaping laurels on her. Vijay says, “I have seen her Telugu movies before and her dance movements amazed me. Acting with me in Azhagiya Tamil Magan, she motivates me and has come out with right expressions”. Asked about the film, Vijay says, “We have just shot a few sequences. I don't want divulge details about the story. But I assure that it would be a racy entertainer with all commercial elements. There is a suspense element in the movie”. Vijay is thrilled about working with director Bharathan. He says, “I know since his early days. He is a happy-go-lucky man who loves humor. Azhagiya Thamizh Magan has fun and humor laced all through. A R Rahman has come up with catchy folks. I hope Azhagiya Tamil Magan will be a movie to cherish in my career”. |
ATM- Progressing fast!
By Moviebuzz | Saturday, 12 May , 2007, 09:41 | |
The shoot of Vijay- Shriya, starrer Azhagiya Tamizh Magan directed by debutant Bharathan is almost 85 percent over. Producer ‘Swaragachitra’ Appachan is a happy man, as only portion leading to the climax and few songs remain to be shot. Last two weeks, Vijay and Shriya were shooting non-stop for the film in and around Hyderabad. A major portion of the film was canned at this schedule, including fight scenes and portions of some romantic scenes. A.R Rahman is said to have come out with some great numbers for the film. Our Ilayathalapathy is very happy with the way the shoot is proceeding, unlike Pokkiri, where there was a lot of tension with the director. Added to that, the buzz is that the film will give a new look to Vijay and has the potential to be a big hit. Meanwhile the film is very hot in the trade circuits, and all areas have gone for a record price. Added to that in one of the areas, a resale has taken place, as the trade is confident that the film will release on August 15, as scheduled. Pokkiri and others create havoc in the near by state
May 09, 2007
In Kerala, Tamil films attract a huge fan base and have been quite high on the collection front too. The recently released Vijay starrer 'Pokkiri' has crossed the hundred day mark and other Tamil films are also doing good business there. This seemed to have made a dent in the collection of Malayalam films.
Hence film actors, producers, technical members from the Malayalam film industry have approached the Minister for cultural affairs Mr. M.A.Baby and have put forth their demands.
According to these pleas, the Mollywood fraternity wants the entertainment taxes to be reduced for Malayalam films and increased for Tamil, Hindi and English films. They have also requested the minister to reduce the tariff for shooting at public places. The minister had listened to their pleas and assured them that he will do the needful.
This will be the second similar situation as in the previous year Telugu faced the same problem as dubbed films like Chandramukhi, Anniyan, Gajini, Sandakozhi and Thimiru were major money spinners.

Big B with Ilaya Thalapathy
May 07, 2007
After Azhagiya Thamizh Magan, Vijay's next project will be funded by Udaynidi, grandson of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and directed by Dharani. Gilli, the earlier film of Dharani was spoken for its opulence and extravagance. This new project has also been decided to be made on a huge budget. Trisha will be Vijay's screen partner.
But the most interesting aspect of this film will be a powerful character with shades of grey that has been created to have equal scope for performance as that of the hero, Vijay. For this role, numerous big names of the industry have been suggested but if sources are to be believed, Bollywood super star Amitabh Bachchan seems to be the front runner. It has been said that a jaw dropping sum is likely to be offered to Mr.Bachchan.
None of the parties have officially confirmed the news yet. It might be remembered that Big B was also approached for a role in Rajini's upcoming Sivaji.

Vijay's new film pooja next week
04.05.07
Reliable sources say that the pooja of Vijay's new film will take place on coming Monday.
After completing 'Azhagiya Thamizhmagan, ' the next film Vijay is to act in, is a closely guarded secret. We took some trouble and were able to unravel a few tidbits of information.
Vijay is to act in a film directed by Dharani. Since the Vijay-Trisha pair was a super hit in 'Gilli,' this new film will also star Trisha in the lead. The film is being produced by Udayanidhi, the son of MK Stalin.
Since coming Monday is an auspicious day, they have decided to have the pooja then, plus do a 2 hour shooting at Shyamala House in Valsaravakkam, after which, shooting will resume again only in June.
To participate in this shooting, Vijay has requested 2 hour permission from director Bharathan. The title of the new film has not yet been decided. The pooja will be done before the Pillayar idol in front of Shyamala House.
All these facts have been kept secret, and it is not sure if they will reveal it on Monday after the function.

Vijay's new film bombs at BO
CNN-IBN
http://www.ibnlive.com/news/vijays-new-film-bombs-at-bo/39297-8.html
Chennai: A youth icon of sorts, he is a contender for the superstar title in Tamil cinema. The shy and reserved actor Vijay was his usual self at the launch of the Tamil edition of Filmfare magazine in Chennai on Wednesday evening.
"We talk a lot during the interviews and when we read the same stuff on the magazine, it's all the more interesting and thrilling,” says Vijay.
As of now Vijay has more reasons to smile than one. His latest film Pokkiri has completed 100 days and was declared a super-hit, and with Prabhu Deva on the director's seat, no doubt the dance sequences were the toughest part.
"I had no clue how Prabhu Deva was going to dance till the last moment. We didn't even have a rehearsal. It was a straight take so I was a bit nervous but it came out well,” says Vijay.
At a time when his rival Ajith is busy with Billa 2007, a remake of Rajnikanth's Billa, so what would be Vijay's choice for a remake?
"Well, there are many films I would like to remake like Nallavanukku Nallavan and Murattukaalai.
But for now, Vijay is waiting to see the superstar sizzle on screen in Sivaji.
“I am waiting for the release too- 1st day 1st show. I am going to be there with the crowd to watch the movie,” says Vijay.
