Till now, only MGR, Rajini and Kamal songs have been re-mixed.
For the first time, a Sivaji number has been re-mixed for 'Azhagiya Thamizh Magan,' a film that Vijay has great expectations of in his film career.
The film has already sold for 25 crores and created a record. The music is by AR Rehman. Director Barathan was joyous that even before the film work started, Rehman had given him 3 songs. It is said AR Rehman has given him one more boon.
Rehman is not for re-mixing old numbers, but in SJ Suryah's film 'New,' he was forced to remix 'Thottaal poo malarum' from 'Padakotti.' He did not remix like others, but retuned it.For 'Azhagiya Thamizh Magan,' Rehman is supposed to have done a re-mix of 'pon magal vandhaal, porul kodi thandhaal' from the Sivaji film 'Sorgam.' Barathan plans to shoot this song with Vijay and Shriya on grand sets.
