The film also sees the entry of politician Karunanidhi's grandson and M K Stalin's son, Udhayanidhi Stalin, as the film's producer.
Politicians debuting in Tamil cinema is not a new thing. In the past M Karunanidhi, MGR, Jayalalitha, Vijayakanth and Sarath Kumar have all entered filmdom in a big way.
Dharani has made two hugely successful films, Dhil and Dhool with his classmate Vikram as the hero. Both studied Bachelor of English at Loyola.
Like the audio launches of his earlier films, Dharani also released Kuruvi's album at the Little Flower Convent, a school for the speech and hearing impaired.
Vikram also turned up for the event as also the young action hero Vishal.
Dharani has a penchant for small titles -- Dhool, Dhil and Gilli. Kuruvi follows the same pattern. The film's tag line is 'Where eagles dare. So go figure'.
Music director Vidyasagar who made the smash hit Appadi Podu from Gilli has also done the music for Kuruvi.
