It was a night of disappointment of sorts for Tamil cinema when IPL’s Chennai Super Kings succumbed to Delhi Daredevils last night after four consecutive wins in the T20 tournament. The M.A. Chidambaram stadium wore a star-studded look with celebrities from Tamil cinema attending the match to cheer up the CSK team. Ambassador Vijay mixed with the crowd as well and was seen whistling and making merry to enliven his team.
Sarath - Radhika, Kushboo - Sundar C, Vivek, Director Shankar, Shantunu, Lakshmi Rai, and Sandhya marked their presence. Earlier, singers Anuradha Sriram and Srinivas sung to the near-full audience in the stadium.
What with all the support from the glitterati, the CSK team that made 169 runs at a loss of 6 wickets could not prevent the Delhi Daredevils from churning out runs starting with Sehwag’s unabashed 71 runs. Thus, the Daredevils secured the requisite runs from 19 overs with 8 wickets still in hand.
