At the audio release of the devotional audio Aanaimuganae Aarumuganae rendered by Shoba Chandrasekara (Vijay's mother) brought out by AVM, the legendary director K. Balachander, who has "discovered" hundreds of actors including the evergreen Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan released the first audio cassette to Vijay and also spoke at length at the function.
He has identified Vijay as the 'Super Star in Waiting'. Praise from K. Balachander means it is truly well deserved, as he is the gemologist who has discovered, polished and exhibited many of today's top actors.
