Vijay's mother, Shobha is a talented singer. Recently, she had undergone further training in Carnatic vocal music. She was also spotted at some of the concerts during the last December music season. All this made people predict that she would soon be releasing an album of her own again. Their prediction has been proved right, as she has recorded an album of Tamil devotional songs for AVM audios.

Titled Aanai muganum, Aarumuganum, the songs praise the two great gods of Tamil culture – Vinayakar and his younger brother, Murugan. Team behindwoods was the first as always to carry gallery pictures of the event held at Adyar Park Hotel in Chennai within hours of the event.

Doyen of Tamil film music, Mellisai mannar, M.S. Viswanathan, Iyakkunar Sigaram K. Balachander, Veena Maestro E. Gayathri, besides new-mom Simran, Vijay and his wife Sangeetha attended the function. Gayathri, Simran and Shoba lit the traditional lamp at the hall which was decorated tastefully.

Simran looked quite simple in a maroon salwar kameez. Shobha and Gayathri wore rustling silk saris while Vijay and his wife wore pure white ensemble clothes.

Vijay released the CD and MS Viswanathan received the first copy.
