Vijay and Trisha starrer Kuruvi completed 150 days successfully at the Box Office. Kuruvi is Directed and co-written by Dharani and produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin.
The 150th day celebrations was held at a grand function in Park Sheraton. Film director K. Balachander and Film Producers Association President Mr. Ramanarayanan presided over the star filled grand function.
The film revolves around a son who declares revenge on the villain, who betrayed and caused the mysterious disappearance of his father by stealing a diamond. The son in his attempt to recover his dues ends up stealing the villain’s precious diamond and also wins the heart of his sister, who runs away with him to Chennai to avoid a marriage with her brother’s henchman. How the son single handedly takes on the mining mafia and finally annihilates them, forms the crux of the story.
Kuruvi has become the second Highest grosser for a tamil film this year only next to Kamal Hassan’s Dasavatharam. Kuruvi managed to collect 1 crore in 2 weeks in the UK. The film ran its initial 40 days in 189 theatres across tamil nadu.
