We have seen how the superstar movie was sold for a record price. Now let us see the response of distributors to younger lads of Kollywood.

Vijay who has a good fan base in Tamil Nadu is generally considered to be the box office savior as his films do a decent business.

His last released Pokkiri has brought in 30 crores and his upcoming Azhagiya Tamil Magan is said to have been sold for a jaw dropping 4.5 crores in the NSC area (North Arcot, South Arcot & Chengelpet) alone. 3.25 crores is the rate at which the overseas rights (includes Malaysia, Singapore, USA, UK) have been sold. Rates for Chennai will depend on the number of prints to be distributed.

Silambarasan's Kaalai is hot in trade too despite his last average grosser Vallavan. Kaalai is reportedly sold for 1.39 crores in the Kovai area (includes Coimbatore, Erode, Thirupur). Kettavan's rates are yet to be decided. Chennai rate is still to be decided based on the number of prints.

Vishal, the tall dark hero of Kollywood who is said to be treading in Vijay's path has proved himself to be a saleable actor and his Malaikottai and Sathyam are two of the most awaited movies this year. Sathyam, where he plays an encounter cop with Upendra and Nayantara in the support roles has its overseas rights sold for 1.25 crores.

Vel is Surya's next film after Sillunu Oru Kaadal and is being directed by Hari. The lucky pair of Surya and Asin is ready to rock Tamil Nadu once again. This movie is set for a Diwali release and is sold for close to one crore for Chennai city area alone.

Dhanush also comes up with Polladavan, which is alleged to be sold for 2 crores in the NSC area (North Arcot, South Arcot & Chengelpet). This is certainly impressive considering Parattai debacle.
