The hype is high whenever Vijay starts a film. It’s double for Vettaikkaran, for the buzz is that the actor is in a mood to start a political party. Not just his fans, but those interested at cinema and politics too eagerly wait for the release of the movie, expecting some implicit message in it.

Directed by Babu Sivan, a former associate of Dharani, the film is being produced by AVM Balasubramanian and B Gurunath Meiyappan for AVM. After a role in the Tamil film ‘Rendu’ opposite Madhavan, Tollywood heroine Anushka is making her comeback in Kollywood with Vettaikaran.

She says, “I am a great fan of Vijay. I have seen his movies several times. I had no hesitation in accepting the offer when AVM and director Babu Sivan approached me. It is a breezy entertainer and acting with him is a delight."

The debutant director, who promises that ‘Vettaikkaran’ will be a completely commercial film, with great songs, action sequences and a message, adds: “I am really excited. It is such an honour to work for an AVM production starring Vijay as hero.. His appeal and reach are just amazing.

Vijay Anthony, who is scoring music for the first time for a Vijay movie, says “Usually, people say my compositions are full of energy. But, when they combine with Vijay’s energetic steps, the effect is bound to be something else."

Will the story come to an end without a quote from Vijay? Certainly not. The actor says: “The crew has a strong contingent of technicians, including cinematographer Ravivarman, music director Vijay Antony, art director Milan and editor V T Vijayan. Babu Sivan is a man of talents. So, I am sure about the success of Vettaikaran."
