Following the protests of actors and directors held at Rameshwaram and subsequently in Chennai on November 1, 2008, fans of actors are observing fast today to show their solidarity towards the Sri Lankan Ethnic Tamil issue.
According to reports, fans of Rajinikanth, Kamal, Ajith, Vijay, Cheran, Seeman, and Ameer have gone on a one day fast starting this morning all over Tamil Nadu in prominent places in an effort to attract attention of the Sri Lankan Government against the genocide of ethnic Tamils.
FEFSI has observed a similar fast in Chennai yesterday with Vishal and Vijay marking their attendance among many other celebrities. The association of TV artistes is also planning a protest on November 9, 2008.
